First things first I am not here to judge the lad on what he has done so far i.e. goals to game ratio etc as I have not seen much off him but have heard a lot about him. Now from what I have seen, youtube clips and the odd review off Ipwich fans etc he has potential and bundles of it. I seem to remember that he scored the winning goal for England that won them the under 19's world cup.

The first thing you really have to take note off is the lads appearance, for an 18 year old he is build like a brick house. This is only an advantage when it comes to playing in the PL. He won't be knocked off the ball and can offer a lot off knock dows to Gyan and Sess..
This is the reason that I think he will do really well here.

Another good thing is that now that the English players rule is coming into effect it can only be a good thing to have another young English talent within our ranks. Especially if we are also getting Gardner aswell.

The only disadvantage I can see here is the length of time it will take him to get used to the league and also the lack off experience he has... We learnt last season that we had a lot off inexperienced heads in the team and it cost us i.e. the Newc**tle game...

Hopefully everything works out well in the coming season and also the fact that he does actually sign and we are not getting used as a pawn for other clubs to step in and match our bid etc...

    Thanks :D

I agree with all of that and think its why, i we get him, we will bring in a older head so that we can bring Wickam off or rest him if needed, we dont want a Jordan mk2 and burn the lad out.

All in all I have to say that I am impressed so far with what the club seem to b doing

I've never seen the lad play TBH so I can't really say if he's worth signing or not personally.
So I shall just have to put my trust in Quinn and Bruce to do the rite thing for the club.
Add to that the other teams reportedly interested. Liverpool, Tottenham, Arsenal. All good clubs, all ran by people with bags full of Football knowledge, far more than me.
Therefore, if we get him I'll be delighted.

If it comes off and I think it will, it is a step in the right direction. All transferes are a gamble but this one sends out a signal. Good news

My childish sense of humour sorry.

I like the kid, think he'll be a great signing.

We didn't sell Henderson cheap though. 20 million pounds, awful lot of money

I think most people in football will be quite surprised that we got him and would have been expecting him to go to an Arsenal or Liverpool so if it comes off I will be delighted. Shows the club has ambition and looking to build a squad for the future and if he progresses like a Carroll for instance will have great resale value when and if he does finally move to a top 4 team. If he does move to a top 4 team in the future will mean he has been brilliant for us for a few years.

Think he will become a very, very good signing.

Just cos he's costing 10mil (ish) I hope we dont get at him if he gets off to a slow start. Imo he's one for the future. The new Gary Rowell ( at least I hope so). I do not think that, if it happens, he will be our major striker signing either.
Fantastic statement of intent from the club and, once again imo only, I believe ES, SNQ etc are really pushing for a top 6 place this season.

He's a great prospect but is largely unproven in the big league. I don't think there will be a middle ground here, he'll either not cut the mustard or be a standout success. Just cross your fingers the bin dippers don't 'dip' in at the last minute.
