Evening lads.. Went to the game yesterday and well done to whoever else that made it on a Wednesday night. Ok my summary. mannone... Couldn't do anything to prevent goals, but parried one to torres, 6. Bardo... Got torn inside out and spun round in circle after circle by an unbelievable eden hazard, 3 of our goals came from his side and finished his performance off with an own goal, 3. oshea... Pretty reasonable game, but had errors, 5. Brown... If we had 4 browns at the back, we might of been of, might. 6. dossena... It pains me to say, he reminded me of Stephen wright, very erratic with both defending and attacking, also looks unfit, 5. Borini... Tried hard without any real threat, got involved more than Johnson would though, 6. colback... had a unusually bad game for his standards, poyet noticed and brought him off, 5. Ki... Good game, passed the ball well with style and assurance, 7. Gardener.. Forgot he was playing at times, had no involvement in the game whatsoever, 3. Giacc... Tried hard and had a go, but didn't threaten with any real meaning, 5. Altidore... His best game for safc, strong, held the ball well and a good goal, superb performance, 9. Overall the lads tried and never gave up which was good to see. Worth my 600 mile trip, and ill return to work tomorrow happy in forking out my travel/ticket money. Still optimistic for staying up and happy with poyet. FTM.
I thought some of that marking was way below par..I was a good all round performance by the team, and they were unlucky to come away with nothing..
Yes mate the ratings are a tad low. As a team we worked very hard, but hard work doesn't always mean quality, and there were rare moments of quality from the lads.. But can't and won't fault them for effort and determination. Our goals were from set pieces, I don't think we would have scored otherwise, but great to get 3 goals anyway.
As good as we looked on the ball I think it's the worst I've seen us off the ball in a while. Obviously we left ourselves more open because we were looking for goals. I don't think we've quite found the balance yet though I'm sure it will come.
