The season is not fully over yet but the feeling of "will we, won't we?" has finally been answered and my personal footballing year has come to a wonderful conclusion, as I hope it has for all my fellow posters on not606.

A few bucket list items have been wiped from the slate (or tablet in modern lingo) and when I left my island in December I never dreamt that so much would happen in my time away that would make my summer off season so much better.

The final point was earned today in what sounded like a fairly dull match but then does that really matter when the final prize is in our grasp. Fixtures like today's have a bad habit of coming up to bite you when you least expect it and the pressure on both teams showed in the overall performance.

My season can now be put to bed while I continue to work like a slave in the garden and my thoughts go back to some very special memories that came my way without prior expectation. A Wembley visit to see my lifelong team capture a trophy followed by the certainty of promotion with a fabulous victory at Bradford and to top it off we go and win the league title.

Not a bad haul of memories for an old timer and it was extra special to share some of them with cidered who assisted me greatly in getting to Wembley to fulfill a long time dream. Thanks to him, and I hope all of you are in fine form at this moment enjoying the ride. Mind the gap.

A lot of us share your contentment Mike

I've seen us promoted a few times. I've seen us beat Bolton and Carlisle and Walsall to win the Freight Rover/JPT but winning the league and a cup this season outdoes Alan Dicks achievement for me, and that was a special team and time.
