    Morning All,

This is my first post on not606 after reading much of the content over the past few weeks. I decided to watch the game yesterday and here's my review:

    1st half:
We took a while to get going but once we did we completed many more passes than Welling. That being said a few players looked a little shaky including Elliott and Wagstaff. I was impressed with Stephens apart from just 1 occasion when he gifted them with a goal scoring chance. He looked most composed and creative and a nice addition to the team. I thought Mambo had a great half and looked tall, strong and a perfect back up to the experience of Taylor who also debuted. It was nice to see Popo have start but equally nice to see Hayes continually communicating to him. Jacksons free kick was very unlucky to hit the bar as he finished a good 45 mins for himself alongside Wiggins creating a natural looking left side which gelled well. No goals but good intentions from Charlton.

    2nd half:
Superb passing football from all areas of the team. Morrison looked very comanding at CB and settled in very nicely. Green showed glimpses of class which I'm sure will make him a crowd favourite. Hollands and Pritchard formed a nice partnership in the middle and rarely gave the ball away. All 3 goals were taken well. Firstly Sam Williams who rounded the keeper and slotted home (he worked very well with Benson throughout the half). The delivery on free kicks was a joy to be seen, the right foot of Green and the left of Hollands will be a big asset from corners, freekicks and crosses this season. It was this route that provided the 2nd goal, a strong jump and header by Morrison. The 3rd was a beaut too by Green. 25 yards out the ball wall struck (a very slight deflection) allowed the ball the looped over the Welling keeper. Other strong points included Solly's continuous desire to support Green and the Doc who also, for a change, looked solid.

All in all a good game. The main point taken away is that this year there will be competition for places which I hope will bring some success to the Valley this year! :emoticon-0100-smile

I watched the wings tv coverage of the game, and from it I'm quite excited about Stephens (bar the one mistake). You can see that he looks very comfortable on the ball and looks for that killer pass. Potentially a player that we haven't had in years.

And welcome to the board mate!

    Greetings, Kevin.

    Good report there.

I am pleased to see Sam Williams on trial with us and it could well be a decent signing. The lad has potential and could well be an asset with the right coaching.

Lots of comments I agree with. In particular I thought that Pritchard settled ok and kept it simple. Taylor and Morrison looked good as did Andersen. Liked both Stephens and Hollands. Stephens looks to be one of those players who has time and a touch of class about them while Hollands seemed content to patrol the centre circle and give the ball to the more creative players.
