Just had a quick look and read of the match report from this afternoons friendly on the south coast. Still it was only a friendly!!! And it was ONLY league 2 opposition!! And they did manage to beat a Ply mouth side full of acadamy and trialists 3 - 2! And there is still 3 weeks to go to the start of the new season - I think the telephone line to a certain island off the coast of France is gonna be gettin hot - get the cheque book out or .... there may be trouble ahead!
lost vs charlton (1 league below) 2-1 then they ONLY JUST beat plymouth (2 leagues below) 3-2 like you said a plymouth side who didnt play any regulars as they dont have any regulars. not looking good for them. looks like league 2 is their level oh wait a minute..... http://www.bcfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10327~2393310,00.html city lost 2-0 vs league 2 torquay their manager and better players has come to us and they still beat city and maynard still not signed his contract i would wet myself laughing if maynard leaves city in last 10 mins of final day of transfer window
You may laugh but look at the GAP between our two clubs and getting bigger each season. Enjoy Div 4 lads.
Could do,non league may beckon, this time last year your lot were shouting, derbies when we get promoted, you were relegated.... It's a funny and unpredictable ol' game....despite the gaps...
A couple of headlines from the Deadside of town:- Winning DOES matter; We are shaping up well ... mmmm - lets have a think about that then! Winning does matter - but it doesnt matter against Charlton, or Torquay come to think of it - cos they are friendlies!! We are shaping up well - after a terrific win against the Pilgrims scoring three goals and ONLY letting in two, against a team of trialists and trainees, and then losing 2 - 0 against the mighty gulls. No disrespect to Torquay but we knicked several of their players and their managment staff and they still beat you!! Even Renee Howe scored against you - if that doesn't set the alarm bells ringing then I'm afraid nothing will ... but wait - there is hope yet - why? Cos they are only friendlies - a wave of the magic cheque-book and all will be OK. I'm not going to make any predictions because I know how they can bite yer butt when it all goes wrong, but I challenge any person from the deadside to come on here and say they are happy with the way things are going south of the river. Only time will tell as last season showed - but I think money is going to have to be spent as per last year or ......
Our sides have been aching all summer since your drop to the bottom tier of english football, you have been a very quiet chap since your demise (cjs), you have predicted a top 3 finish and just like last season i believe you will fail and maybe drop into the blue square - You can only dream about Championship football, oh how that GAP has grown -
APL 2011 - I suggest you have a good read of Millens comments in the evil post - then tell me if you are still laughing? Remember everything goes round in circles (cos I can remember the GOOD OLD DAYS when your team went from top to bottom in 4 years) and nothing lasts forever - not even your ex-chairmans money! And why do you believe we will drop out of the league this year? On what basis are you presuming that? I take it you have been to our pre season games then? I heard plenty of people laughing the other night at Twerton - perhaps you were one of them? On second thoughts they were laughing cos we are now going to play attacking attractive football and they were delighted at what they saw! Still waiting for a She Ted to come on here and tell us gasheads about how great and happy they are with their pre season so far!
Rhinestone - Keep your hair on lad - course we are laughing at you, after your eventful season where you fell into the 4th tier it's been an amazing summer for us S***heads as you like to call us. Pre-seasons are about gaining fitness and gelling the squad together ready for the forthcoming season (Championship for us & we all know what you sags have to look forward to , so relax and enjoy your season in the 4th and many more to come i hope.
He who laughs last ...... And I am relaxed and I am going to enjoy my football this season - if our pre season results are anything to go by! And if your pre season results are anything to go by - I will be enjoying my season even more
A magnificent pre-season record,so far well done... Mangotsfield Utd 1-5 "gasheads" Bath City O-2 "gasheads" Salsbury Town 2-5 "gasheads" "gasheads" 2-2 Inverness CT. I applaud your enthusiasm, well deserved after a humiliating relegation season into the basement, being one of the REDS that followed my team into division 4, I have experienced the gut wrench but, surely results based on the teams you have played don't mean a thing except that you are better than conference,Burnley and Reading will be a better indication of your prospects. As the man said," We are Championship, you are 2 below in the 4th tier " enjoy your pre-season run,it's a long 8 month season.
Pre season for the red-side is as follows: BCFC 1 - Charlton Athletic (1st Div) 2 Plymouth Argyle 2 - BCFC 3 (2nd or bottom league in administration team) - well done - splendid result! Torquay Utd 2 - BCFC 0 (2nd or bottom division) To put that into your words: results based on the teams you have played dont mean a thing except that you are worse that 1st div side and an ave to worse 2nd div side - I look forward to more results for both teams as this will give a true indication of how good/bad we are likely to be when the season starts. I have endured an agonizing 12 - 18 months, and had to put up with crap football, even worse results and tons of s**T coming from my friends south of the river. I just like what I have seen and heard so far - positive attacking attractive football - albeit against "conference" standard teams (I think ICT fans might take that as a bit of an insult!). A positive manager who says he is going to attack, and a new start, having cleared out most of the dead dross that we had to endure last season. As you say you are a "championship" side and we are 2 tiers below you .... for now - and I am still waiting for someone to say they are happy with how there season is shaping up - the new signings and pre season results etc. I, like you, have been around a long time and have seen good and bad times - hopefully "our" bad times are behind us for now, and I sense a positive vibe and a new start - even if it is in the 4th tier. I am not going to start making predictions - I am just saying things dont look to good on the red side of town giving your pre season results and the comments I have read in the evil post! Perhaps at the end of the season we will both look back at these posts and have a right good chuckle ..... but the future is not ours to see!
getting beat left right and center to lower league sides, signing granddads, Billy big bollocks leaves and takes his money with him, Maynard leaving imminently, cant afford electric bills, cant understand English its fooking brilliant watching your lives unravel these days. Totally class oh bless
A simple answere to all this jealousy shown from our blue freinds is to give them a chance to do what they all really want to do but are not brave enough. Its time to come out in the open gas heads admit your true love is on the south side of the city wearing red! Put aside this pretence of loyalty to a 4th division side and come along to ashtongate wearing red and enjoy the party that is the championship!
