My other half is Canadian, and she loves football. She plays it and she helps me coach kids too. Actually she's a friggin good player (but I did'nt tell anyone that, lol). But she doesn't understand my love for SAFC. I guess it's because she didn't grow up watching games or going to games.

She has been to a couple of games at the SOL and she enjoyed them but she says she doesn't understand the complete fascination that us fans have for our team.

Maybe it's just because she's Canadian, or maybe it's because the snow and cold over the last 40 yrs have addled her brain.
 
Tell her she aint alone, not many of us do. I get upset and overjoyed beyond belief and its all for a club who, in all honesty, know my bank account because they take my cash but dont know me from Adam.

A group of highly paid players who care about my team on a proffessional level but love other teams on a personal level.

An American owner who will have no idea about how or where I live.

There is no logic to it and I cant explain, even to me, why I care about them but I do.

Your other half may be blessed to have never been bitten by the bug, then again just look at what she is missing.
 
That's what I tell her Syd when she rolls her eyes at me when I'm watching or listening to the games and I get a tad over excited. The worst thing is my cousin sent my son a Scum wallet for his birthday this year, I nearly **** a brick and now I can't take it off him. I just don't have the heart.

She is a sad human being, she does not get to sit at a computor at 6.30 on a Sunday morning talking to a stranger in America about football....


Reading that she may well have a point.
