As I have been banned from ITTV I have started a new forum. I have called it Out of The Valley. All welcome. https://outofthevalley.freeforums.net/
As a general principle I will always support any Charlton fan who wishes to set up a new fans' forum. Been there myself a couple of times. And this could be a prophetic Forum name. Charlton could well find themselves out of the Valley some time in the next 5-10 years.
Count me in Dicky. You run excellent Charlton forums …it must be your wealth of experience. Out Of The Valley is a great name.
I think folks will come after a while once they see a little activity on the new forum. I appreciate it's a bit of a chicken-and-egg question - activity and debate will only really get going once a certain number of members have joined. And some may be a bit sceptical, given events of the past couple of years. But if even half a dozen members begin to debate current goings-on at CAFC and present views in an atmosphere free from sniping and cancelling, more people will want to join in. After all, what is there to lose? I hope this happens but it may take a little while.
We have three active posters on my forum. I am giving it to the end of August. If no one else signs up I will kick it into the long grass. https://outofthevalley.freeforums.net/
ESI were the answer to his prayers. Enabled him to keep all the assets and not worry about the club. ESI were by far the worst owners we've had; TS and SE7 don't come close IMO. The damage they did in the long term in separating the club from the ground is immeasurable. If it turns out you've called it right he should be grateful to ESI.
Rick Everitt has forgotten more than I'll ever know about Charlton, BUT he is adamant that redevelopment of The Valley is not viable. As @A WUM called Hawtrey likes to remind me of my 'time' for Everitt, on this occasion I think I am not too far off the truth. Hopefully I am wrong.
Initially he wanted to build a football empire of European clubs swopping players, but that floundered. I've no idea what's going on in his head now, but the welfare of CAFC doesn't feature in whatever it is.
W Duchatelet has handed over his assets to a Trust, led by his son Roddy, who is not well disposed to our fanbase. Everitt & Co made in personal by knocking on his door, Meire’s family’s home, marching thru his village etc …and now it’s well & truly bitten the whole fanbase on the arse. He holds the Valley & Sparrows Lane, and all the cards (CARDS). Slavish devotion to the stand offish Everitt looks even more stupid in this context. Roland 6 B20 0
So Roddy could wait patiently for the club to self-destruct, when presumably it becomes easier to exploit the land. Alternatively if NJ takes us to the promised land the trust pushes the rent sky-high when the lease comes up for renewal.
The fans concerned say they didn't knock on the door. They were pushing a leaflet through when the owners opened the door. The other version has become the accepted reality, a bit like the fans drove Curbs out.
