I know we're outsiders to go down, but I just can't get it out of my mind that it's going to go tits up. Part of me wishes we never had this game in hand as it could come down to gd with us and the mags. We obviously need to park the bus in both games to try and concede 4 goals or less, as I can see Hull winning and the mags getting a draw. God I wish it was this time next week so it's all over

    I'm not that nervous
a few weeks back I thought that all hope was lost, and prepared myself for relegation. So what happens now is an added bonus.

I'm concerned that we could resort to fielding Bridcutt in the remaining games!

I've got a bet with a mate that we won't lose our last 3 games.

    I'm quietly confident.

I don't think we'll be parking the bus either. We might not get much possession on Wednesday, but we won't be parking the bus!

Anyway, old eggnog says he won't so we won't!

I'd be more worried if we didnt have a game in hand.

Really? Both us and Arsenal need a point. If we'd played them at the proper time they'd have torn us to shreds. Now they only need a point they won't commit as many forward I don't believe. We keep it it tight and mistake free it's got point written all over it. I've even changed my prediction. I'm not suggesting Arsenal won't beat us given the opportunities, but with a clean sheet meaning they won't have to endure a pointless CL preliminary round, probably some where mental like Eastern Europe. Why wouldn't they focus on a clean sheet to get them over the line? Leaving them with stress free final day at home to express themselves.

A point on Wednesday night will solve it all. Go for that, Dick.

four separate events have to happen to relegate us:
we have to lose 2 matches
the mags have to win (unlikely)
Hull have to win (very unlikely)

so based on probability we should be safe.................................that's what I keep telling myself anyway :emoticon-0100-smile

would be fatal mistake to try and contain Arsenal .... that's what Poyet would have done. Got to get at their midfield and don't let them settle

I think that's why Dick's said we won't park the bus. He'll think this through, and he might just get that point. (God, I haven't said owt like this about a Sunderland manager in years! <laugh>).

We only have to draw if you lose both by a big enough margin. Of course the sheer thought that we'll even manage a point is laughable.

You're safe. It's all down to whether Hull can beat Man Utd.

I too fear Hull beating Utd. However, if we can avoid losing our 2 games by 5 or more goals, then Hull & Newcastle both have to win. Rather have the point on Wednesday so we can enjoy them fight it out from the ringside!

Also Arsenal won't be getting stuck in to tackles as they have an FA cup final shortly.

I really can't see how anyone would be convinced Hull will beat the 4th placed team in the league.
If this was Sunderland I'm sure there'd be a few people fearing a home defeat.

Hull are 3rd bottom for a reason and Bruce is well known for bottling it in this type of game. If he plays the 3 at the back, Chester/Dawson/McShane, Man Utd will outscore them imo. If I was Man Utd I'd find it pathetically creepy that Bruce has attempted to crawl to them by saying,

"Maybe Man U owe me something after wrecking my knee, my hip and my ankle!" <doh>

What is there, in their recent form, to suggest they'll beat United?

    Tottenham 2-0 Hull LOST
    Hull 0-1 Burnley LOST
    Hull 1-3 Arsenal LOST

    Hull 1-0 Liverpool WON
    Crystal Palace 0-2 Hull WON

    Southampton 2-0 Hull LOST
    Swansea 3-1 Hull LOST
    Hull 2-3 Chelsea LOST

    Leicester 0-0 Hull DREW
    Hull 1-1 Sunderland DREW

    Stoke 1-0 Hull LOST

Bruce has already started his usual stream of excuses before the game even starts.

"We're in a state of shock and disappointment," Bruce told BBC Sport.

The basic requirement of a wum is to say something interesting, original & witty ...... this lad doesn't even manage 1 out of 3 <doh>

The standard of wumming has severely dropped in recent years.

The Tobes creature is the scrapings off the bottom of the barrel tbh.
