asked me a very valid and troublesome question tonight..

Now...letme say he is a good mate and live in sydney..ST holder for over 20 years and never followed anyone else..although he does admit to loking out for us ( because of me) and watching other scores...

    Her siad..

As a brentford fan this season, we think maybe we could win the league, get promoted or have a bad season and finish mid table..its al positive...
    NOW
As a QPr fan, what is in store for you (us) the fight of relegation, ridiulous loses, misery interspaesed with the odd (Chelsea) win....

Q: Do i really enjoy us being here?......

My nswer was, yes, the agony of the prem was better than the feeling of winning the Chumpionship...BUT...is it really...?

How do you feel this year ..almost knowing we are ****e and will be exposed even further this season against the bigger teams..

Our team is a good champs team, thats all, so do you enjoy seeing our players made to lok bad.?

Personally..if i was in england watching us play Man utd, Chels etc I'd love tit.if only to see the opposition, but being this far away, Its really hard to stomach and watch some times....

    Thoughts......?

As someone else who is abroad, it's obviously not much fun watching Rangers get a stuffing from bigger and better opposition, that's never nice to see. However, the ambitious part of me can't help but hope and dream for better things...for development...gradual improvement in our league position over a few years, moving toward being a stable Premiership club and continuing to develop. It might be unrealistic...but I'd rather get a kicking every now and then but gradually move onwards, as opposed to being a yo-yo team moving up and down divisions.

Depends what personality type you are Queenslander. Personally I am loving this season because it is a real challenge and test. The fact that we might fail just adds to the excitement. Not interested in staying in comfort zones. Also remember that from 73 to 96 we only had a couple of seasons out of the top flight, this is where our club should be, just like League 1 is where Brentford should be ( no offence to your mate).
But I am beginning to think I take it all a little less seriously than many on here. I don't like it when we lose, even less when we play without spirit, but can't say it ruins my week or causes me stress/anguish - I have work and family for that, the footy is for fun.

Personally I enjoyed being in championship when we were a mid table side (at best). I could always get a ticket, away games were great all the same old faces and prices were lower.

In the prem there's too many player comings and goings plus it's all a bit 5pm sunday to me which I detest.

I can see both sides (particularly valid points from WBA2..).

I think the harder fought Prem victories bring about a biger high but the runs without a win are sheer misery.

Wouldn't want the NPC again (given any choice) because you want to do well and win and ultimately end up promoted.

Football for me is about crazy aspiration and completely unfounded optimism and I can do that as wantonly in the top flight (with even crazier flights of fancy) as anywhere else.

We were promoted as champions last season but I couldn't celebrate the way we did when we came up from League 1 because of the FA charges hanging over the club for so long. Even though we'd technically gone up at the Watford away game and there had already been one pitch invasion earlier on it was an anti-climax. What was fantastic was winning week in week out, something I have sincerely missed this season!

I wonder if we were like the Boing Boing Baggies and got relegated then promoted a few times if we'd enjoy the ride or hanker for stability in either division. Now that they are an established Premier league team I doubt WBA would opt for relegation just so that they could enjoy another promotion push but seeing your team humped every week when you are used to watching them win isn't very nice.

Until we have a 40,000 stadium and have dipped our toes in Europe a few times I won't be able to consider QPR as anything more than a Championship side. The wealth and ambition of the owners is great to have but I doubt they even considered relegation after all the money spent since the TF take over. I don't have rose tinted spectacles, I have blue and white hooped spectacles and they alternate between light and dark depending on the weather!!!

I've got a few Brentford fans as mates. Idiots when it comes to football! I didnt know anyone hated QPR at all until speaking to them. They really hate us. I dont know why as im sure we have only ever played them twice in last 40 odd years!

And the still go on about Rowlands! FFS it was 9 years ago! I know a few that went to Colchester away on Tuesday just to abuse him. He came on in the 70th minute and helped turn the game around and Brentford from 1-0 up lost 2-1! Ha Ha!

Definitely would prefer sh*t Prem to good Championship. The longer you survive in the Prem the greater the chance you'll eventually move up the league.

Championship is a very good competition. There are some good teams, good players and when we did well last year it was good to be a fan. However, i also remember dropping into League 1, the fact we were crap until NW took over.

Premiership: David Silva, RVP. Rooney, Reina, - just a few players this season that will grace us with their presence at Loftus Rd. Players with internaitonal pedigree. Would loved to have seen Frabregas. We have signed players with a pedigree - some of which have yet to perform to their best, but players anyhow we would not have attracted or been able to attract in the past, SWP, Cisse, Onuoha, Taiwo (is this the first AC Milan player we have ever had?) toname but a few.

Whilst we may not stay in the top league this year (and I for one think we will stay up), to see players of this calibre at Loftus Rd playing against the team I have followed since I was knee high to a grass hopper is what hopes and dreams are made of.

The one thing I would love to see happen again, would be for another Wimbledon to happen, where a team comes from nowhere to the top fight. Too much money means this will probably never happen again.

Staying up will be just the same as winning the league for me.

Another good reason for staying up is that every match is streamed which is useful for the away games that cost £100 to get to.
