Forgetting for a moment the way in which we took apart the league champions, the highlight of the game for me was watching the Northam boys doing the Poznan when we went 3-1 up! The look on the City fans faces was priceless! Bloody brilliant!!
My highlight which seems to have gone largely unnoticed was in the second half when Puncheon did consecutive back-heel flicks to combine with I believe Lambert and Rodriguez down in the right hand corner. In all the excitement of the day I can barely remember the details, didn't see anyone else mentioning it nor was it on the highlights, but I remember at the time thinking it was a thing of beauty.
If one of you Saints player initiates when you watch could you look out for what I referred to earlier I would appreciate it, at the time I remember thinking it was incredible play, the more I think about it I'm forgetting the details and wondering if it wasn't as good as I thought. Would be in the second half obviously before Puncheon went off, possibly around the 50/55 minute mark.
Yes, that chance he created by lifting the ball over the defender's head and then shooting narrowly wide! Just sublime, and a sign of his improving confidence as a PL player.
Wasn't overly pleased about losing Billy and getting JRod...thought he might be over-hyped, but delighted to be prove wrong...especially as I think he will only get better.
My highlight yesterday apart from the game of course was seeing Bolton fans booing when they were a goal down and De Ridder was substituted off! Of course they then went on to win. You don't hear many chants along the lines of "sorry, it appears you do know what you're doing" do you?
Well I said I'd report and they did show Puncheon's two backheels, and bloody excellent they were too. Had a bit of swagger and arrogance about them and I love that when we play against the top teams. I still remember Leeds.
Wonderful, cheers. I was starting to wonder if I had gone mad and it was an insignificant scuffed/fluked ricochet or some such, because I was amazed there was no replay of it or a highlight on MotD as at the time I thought it was sublime.
Several, he had a couple of nutmegs, flicks and knocked the ball over the head of a defender at one stage, seems to be growing in confidence by the day.
