That commentator was a right ****!!!!! he basically said " all the players that have done well for Newcastle will be snapped up by the big clubs and the players will go" 5th is no disgrace, however I'm gutted once again if I'm honest. Once again we were the nearly team. One day I keep saying this but one day final day will work out for us. I think we will be selling a few players given Pardew has all but confirmed it, however we can surly replace them and improve the squad. I think financially we can finish top 10 but doubt we will match or better this season.
This has been an amazing season, stop whining. Of course a few will go out of this club. Same as any close season. We will get top dollar for them no doubt. And I'm sure whoever we get in to replace the leavers will be cheap and good. Can you honestly say 5th is a disappointment>
You are not getting it! I'm happy with 5th, however because we came close I'm slightly dissapointed with nearly doing something again. Lets see what happens this summer and hopefully like I said we will build a better squad overall, despite the fact we will sell a couple of our best players.
It's easy to feel this way because we were so close to CL football, but no matter what our result today a win wouldn't have been enough given the Arsenal and Spurs results anyway. Once the 'we were so close' feeling passes, we will be able to see 5th place for the truly amazing achievement it is. 'We nearly did it' shouldn't outweight the 'what we did do'.
If anybody had told me we'd qualify for Europe and finish above Chelsea this season, I would have laughed in their face! Toon Toon!
