My final answer to all who think I ????????

Thank you all for the support that has been given to me on your post re; my dispute with your leaders! I want to make it quit clear that I am not and never have been a racist based on the following facts! I married a lady from Bows common, Dublin. I have two daughters who are proud of being half Irish. My solicitor is Jewish. My account is Black. I have friends all over the world, too many to mention here and lastly I am half Jewish as my farther was a Jew who did not marry my mother! This can all be confirmed with documents!
So all you PC moderators who are on a ego trip, pick the bones out of that. One last question , please explain to me what is a African American? what is a French Canadian? To me you are ether one or the other or we could call our selfs European English with a small E!! Now Chaps have a think of what I have said and then call me a racist! I stand or fall on your VOTES!! I didn't have the faintest idea there was any rascist connotations in THAT post and use the same phrase sometimes while loathing bigotry in all forms.

Are we meant to research every word or saying that we've ever picked up despite using them innocently?

And keep posting, just stick to the footy, it's the R's that we have in common and why we are on here. Anything else is for the dire General Chat section. Northolt and Brixton are not our leaders, just two guys who for no reward help keep this thing going - they deserve some respect and thanks for this. If you have a disagreement with one or both of them be British - grin and bear it.

Whether you are a racist or not , or keep posting here or not, I don't really give a ****.
What is pissing me off, is you keeping on nipping me about it, and if that carries on, me and my ego trip will sort a ban out for you and take the decision out of your hands.

Also my staff have just drawn my attention to yet more fine print in their contracts which states when the external temperature at 3pm hits 26deg we must close the office and head to The Stag for chilled Stella. Far be it for me to break a contractual term.

Wow, just read the now infamous thread and cant believe that this has blown up from a 'saying.' I read the thread from top to bottom, and knew as soon as I saw the 'phrase' in question that it would be the one. Yes it can be used in both senses but I genuinely dont believe it was used as a form of racism. I read it as not to ''beat around the bush'' as it where.

Just for clarification I dont mean I wait behind bushes and ambush people, then beat them to a pulp, I simply mean calling it straight.

And by straight I dont mean to start a homophobic war, I simply mean being direct and cutting out all the crap.

And as far as "racism goes", down here on South Coast not to far from me, is a shop selling Golliwog dolls. The council want to ban this midle aged woman (aged 50 ish) from selling these dolls - I remember when I first joined the civil service going to a diversity training course and the lady taking the course showed a photo of a golliwog and asking what the class thought. bear in mind I am in my early 40's, the only time I ever saw such a picture was on a jar of Robinson's Jam...and said this not quite expecting the response I got. a young black girl spoke up and said that is what she remembered as a little girl. The woman selling the dolls owns an "Olde Worlde Shop" which sells all sorts of items that you don't usually find on the shop shelves.

Whilst I came out of my diversity training fully understanding where the names initally came from (having never known before) I sometimes think that we look for the worst raher than give someone the benefit of the doubt especially if its how they communicate. I personally didn't find anything offensive in what you said James, don't stop putting your views on the board

 

FFS if you want an object lesson in bigotry etc just drop in on the General Chat section where gratuitous insults of every lowdown type are commonplace and, apparently, are allowed with the blessing of the moderators. I saw nothing contentious in the thread in question, it's only contentious if you are actually looking to read it that way. I work in a local authority where thought police check your computers and anyone who says boo to a goose is up on jumped up 'charges' that could cost them their job. This forum is a haven of like-minded people exchanging the sort of views we would talk about to our mates in the pub, if we are gonna be sanctioned or banned for sod all this forum will die a slow and painful death. Carry on entertaining us James...
