I have the distinct impression that Mon will start with 5 in midfield on Sunday, with larsson, Catts, gardener, vaughan or Colback and McClean supporting a lone Sess up top. However, I'd love to see him play Sess behind Campbell in the hole and not play either Vaughan or Colback. Sess could make up the 5th midfield player. I don't think Pardew will be expecting that and I also think that a deeper role for Sess will play havoc with the mags gameplan. They will be expecting to mark Sess out of The game but playing deep will suit his little tricks and ability. They have the edge being at home but it will be a very close game imo. Very close. Interestingly, a couple of my mag pals have McClean down as the big danger to them, as none of them think Simpson will be able to handle him. Amazing isn't it but12 weeks ago he wasn't ready for the first team according to one bloke and yet today, he is our major threat. Funny old game football you know
I think he'll start Campbell. There's not really any reason not to, he's been great so far and we most certainly need the goals he might be able to give.
If we are talking dream teams mine would be, if fit... WESTWOOD BARDSLEY..OSHEA..BROWN..RICHARDSON LARSSON..CATTS..GARDNER..MCLEAN CAMPBELL..SESS However I think it will be MIG BARSLEY..TURNER..OSHEA..RICHARDSON LARSSON..CATTS..GARDNER..COLBACL..MCLEAN SESS
Whoever plays on your left will automatically be the biggest threat as they will be up against the leagues worst right back
Simpson didn't impress when he was here under Keane on loan. Too lightweight. McClean is a typical big hard Irish lad with loads of pace. He will run all day long and just keep attacking the full back. Sure, he is still very raw but the massive strides he has taken in just 12 weeks is astonishing really. He has gone from unheard of former Irish league player to full Irish international and 2 goal EPL hero inside 3 months. Hecost £400k. It would be the irony of all ironies if it was actually Steve Bruces last purchase that settled the 1st derby in 2 years he hasn't been involved with.
Mig Gardner Turner O'Shea Richardson Larsson Cattermole Vaughan Mcclean Sessegnon Campbell subs Gordon Bridge Kyryagos Colback Ji Bendtner Wickham Thats providing Bardo doesn't make it, he has to be 100% fit, we can't afford to carry anyone in this game
I think it would be a massive mistake to take gardener out of midfield at this time. He has been fantastic imo in recent weeks in the centre. If bardsley doesn't make it, I would play Wayne Bridge at right back, keep the same shape and leave the rest alone. Sunday is not the time to note the whole team about to accommodate 1 missing player imo.
