This match IMO shows that we desperately need a new striker/s.

Shola - OK he wasn't as bad as Lover but IMO he doesn't strike me with confidence to be honest and if he doesn't feel 100% with the mask he simply shouldn't start. What do you reckon keep or sell in the summer?

Lover - That sums it up. Non-existent and no threat what-so-ever! Sell definitely IMO, simply not good enough at this level anymore.

Ranger - Did OK(much more than Lover) when he came on, showed good strength and pace but didn't pose that much of a threat IMO, but at least put himself about much more than the ''experienced'' heads Strolla and Lover. Should start IMO with Best(if he's fit) next game.

Gamiero/Gervinho/Wolfswinkel/Pav/Sturridge/Demba Ba are all names being mentioned and wanted.. who would be your personal one?
How many striker/s do we need?
    Who would you sell?

IMO we need a more agile, nippy, quick, skillful and a creative sort of striker.. how about yes.. I know.. I won't say the name but I'll like someone who's more involved in the game and someone who's technically very good(comfortable with the ball, dribbling, control, etc..).

    Opinions?

    Shola - ****e
    Lovenkrands - ****e
Ranger - ****e, but with potential
    Best - Decent
    Kuqi - ****e

That shows the dire state of our striking force.

Agree, although I don't want to be that harsh. I'll personally sell the old lads Strolla and Loverman. Release Kuqi and keep Ranger and Best as competition/cover for hopefully a new striker/s.

Shola - average, hold onto as backup and for sentimental reasons
Lovenkrands - Not good enough. Sell.
Ranger - loan out next season
Best - He's okay, it'll be interesting to see if he can keep up his decent performances.
Kuqi - Keep on as a coach but not as a player
Xisco - Has scored 4 goals in 3 years. Seems to have a good touch so maybe keep him til January to see if he can hack it but if at any point someone bids for him, sell him!

Airey, Zamblera and Spear/SAmeobi can bulk out our options so we don't need any more 'squad strikers'. Two prem quality strikers are what we need, we aren't looking for someone to partner Best, we need a completely new front two! If Xisco gets sold then I'd even say we need THREE strikers!

Gamiero/Gervinho, Pav/Doyle and Sturridge/Welbeck on loan (assuming we cannot buy them).

Why? I rate Best much higher than that. I think he's definitely good enough to at least compete for a place in the starting line-up next season. He's our current BEST striker IMO, which I know doesn't say a lot but you know give a bit more credit :)

I'm waiting to see what he does between now and the end of the season, he may just be 'enjoying his moment in the sun'.

I'm hoping he is the real deal though. <ok>

Yeah it's understandable obviously, he might just be on a purple patch and may not be as effective as usual next season although I hope he gets better by every game, he seems to be adjusting fairly enough now to understand what it takes to be a PL striker. He's got the work-rate and attitude but is he good enough to be the BEST next season?

It's quite weird to think how Best has gone from completely written off to our best striker in 10 games. I think he's quite decent and someone to partner him next season with Ranger and Airery challenging for starting places would be what we should be considering IMO.

I keep forgetting but at 24, Best has still got plenty of time to improve. <ok>

The only one that i rate now is Best. Although i think he's really good i think that when we spend in the summer the new striker has to be better
    1st choice:new striker
    2nd choice:Best
    3rd choice:Ranger
