So we've finally lost, after a great run.

I think it's fair to say we were all a bit worried going into the game and it certainly lived up to our fears.

Stoke were great first half and we just weren't in the game - our dominant spell of passing for a while only led to the one clear chance from Modric. Our defending though, was atrocious. We just couldn't handle the throw ins and their height in the box.

Thankfully not every team play like Stoke but next time we play them, we need to adjust our playstyle more to match them.

Second half, we made changes and we looked far better, there was more rhythm to our game and we started to fashion chances.

The penalty? The defender certainly puts his leg out to stop Modric then brings it back in - Modric goes down. Regardless of whether or not it was right or wrong, it didn't change the overall outcome as we were already losing.

We improved after we scored and had the goal ruled out, despite being obviously legit, plus a whole host of decisions went against us - Stoke still looked dangerous enough on the counter however and they could've scored again.

A few of our players were anonymous completely, VdV was quiet all match as was Defoe in the second half. Adebayor improved immensely in the second half however and should've had at least 1 more goal.

We deserved a point probably - however, what we need to do now is dust ourselves off and prep for Sunderland (I assume it'll be the 'kids' against Shamrock). Sunderland are in a managerial 'honeymoon' period and they won today against a tough Blackburn side.

We can't afford another slip up before we play Chelsea on the 22nd - what today's game allows us to do is shake some of the players up, tell ourselves 'we're not invincible' and begin another run :D

Foy's masterclass in atrocious refereeing shouldn't distract Redknapp from working on some of our faults in today's game.
Weak on set-pieces, flustered early on by their rapid closing down and constant harrying (arf) and some pretty anonymous performances from important players.

I expect a very different side for the Shamrock game, but we really need to put on a big performance against Sunderland next week.
Make sure that everyone can see that this was just a blip.
 
I thought Bassong played very well while he was on,making us far better from set pieces.I surpose Kaboul gets a 1 match ban which really is farcical.
Lets just hope that we can beat Sunderland(who will be up for it with MoN coming in).Oh well you can't win them all and yes a good article.
 
Disgusting, disgusting reffing and assistant reffing. Foy was appalling last season at Stoke, where he let them kick us all over the park, especially Gomes.

I hate him, I hate the lino(s), I hate Stoke, I hate their fans, and when they eventually get relegated, I will drink a long celebratory lager or two.

Stoke are a disgrace to football, so are their fans, so is Pulis and so is Foy.

I will fight to stay alive long enough to toast their demise, please let it be soon <ok>

That's my ten cents worth BTW :)
 
I knew we would lose when i read that if we won it would be our best run(7 wins in a row) since May1967(that is the exact month and year I started surporting Spurs).

It appears Garth Crooks disagrees with you as Walker appears in the TOTW. Regardless, there were worse players on the pitch than Walker in the first half and in the second he certainly put a few testing deliveries into the box - plus he should've scored were it not for Shawcross's elbow.

Senior players also had an off day, it was just our turn for 'one of those games', no reason for all the hyperbole imo.
