I wonder how much that's cost us ? I bet it's much more than £400,000 ! brb won't like this............. So, big Sam has gone - surely the only England manager to 'lose his job' after a 100% win rate ( I know it was only one game - but you can't argue with the statistics ). I say " lose his job " - because the word 'sacked' was never actually quoted - but we all know what, in essence, has happened ---- but has it ? If Sam has gone by 'mutual consent', I don't doubt that a financial settlement was agreed upon. WHY ? Allardyce was [stupid] caught basically trying to use his position to conspire with others for them to defraud. I expect that technicalities in the circumstances may have meant that any criminal case might not have secured a conviction ----- a bit like the getaway driver in a bank robbery - who decides to do a runner without the rest of the gang when he hears the alarm ! ( he's still guilty of robbery even if he hasn't got any of the money )........ So - why wasn't Allardyce ' sacked ? Why is he being 'rewarded' for so obviously trying to be corrupt -- because if he wasn't corrupt, why would he have to leave his job ??? He should have been sacked without a penny from the FA ( that'll be you and me - the tax payer picking up the bill ). By leaving with 'mutual consent ' he's leaving with no disciplinary or criminal action - in fact - he's probably getting a ' golden handshake ' that dwarfs the £400,000 that he was being paid by his would be 'co-conspiritors ' - and he'll be back in another managerial job before you know it - where he can carry on with his brand of scruples.
I think the problem is, he wasn't the only manager to do it. The F.A need to take action against the other managers doing the same things and not just Big Sam. Also maybe they need to look at their own policies if there's such a big hole which means several clubs have managed to exploit the transfer market this way. If there wasn't a gap in the policy, I'm sure clubs wouldn't do it.
It's a criminal offence of up to 7 years imprisonment to take a bribe, call it a bung whatever you like, it's much and much the same, the quicker the law imposes this sort of sentence on some one the quicker we will knock these greedy little pig swills in to touch.
Herein lies the problem with all rules / regulations / criminal laws - enforcement ! It used to be that you needed a smart arsed lawyer to help you to avoid a conviction - now we have the Crown Prosecution Service who do basically the same job - at public expense. ( the CPS are totally independent from the Police or any law enforcement agency ). The job of the CPS is to review the evidence in each 'offence' that the Police wish to bring to court - and to actively look for any loophole or excuse or technicality that may or not exist - that might affect a successful conviction - and then tell the Police that you can't take Mr.Hitler to court - he was in his bunker at the time of the crime !-- hence my previous suggestion about the getaway driver of a team of bank robbers driving off without the other thieves when he got spooked by the bank's alarm - he's still guilty. All the time we have the CPS in control of who goes to court ( or rather who doesn't ), and perverting the course of justice, we can expect that it's not just the England football set up that is the laughing stock of this World.
Excellent explanation to the situation. Also just to add separately for those who may not be aware, it is not the first time a certain person has been alleged to have taken bungs, just a coincidence of course
The CPS are the one's who have to take these people through the court system, a very expensive business that will run into thousands of pounds, sometimes hundreds of thousands. they have the experience of prosecutions failing as a result of poor evidentiary proof or legal loopholes, so it isn't the CPS that is at fault but the poorly written laws and scumbag lawyers who use these loopholes to protect the guilty.
In footballers speak.....the CPS will not take a case to court unless there is a 150% chance of success. Gone are the days that the jury decides. I worked under them for many years....... :-(
Barnsley assistant manager Tommy Wright was sacked today after accepting a £5,000 bung. Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink of QPR also involved but somehow the dodgiest football owner in the country Massimo Cellino has been cleared. Southampton's assistant manager Eric Black has been named tonight also as part of this scandal.
