aye just read this. good news indeed. Ive said before that buying a few quality players in january will be the difference between automatic promotion, staying in the top 6 or nothing at all, depending on who we buy. I'd like to think if we're placed nicely in the top 6 within a few points of 2nd place the Allams will push the boat out a bit (not too much..) and bring a creative midfielder and a quality striker to the club, i dont think we need much more. The question then is do we go after proven championship players, that will cost more, or players doing exceptionally well in the lower leagues... I'm sure we'll get it right come january.
hardly shocking or breaking news is it. but as we have said and the article states, the club Must complete extentions for the season on both Brady and Waghorn. Maybe one more striker, BUT WHO ? Huddersfield wont part with Rhodes and IMO Butterfield will see out his contract and leave on a Free next summer. Gerrard - Maynard - Butterfield. All out of contract summer 2012. Now all 3 would be great signings for the Tigers in PL. But first things first. On a side issue. Was at the Beverley Branch OSC last night with Liam Rosinoir the quest. Spoke very well and gave great answers to many and variied questions. The 2 things that he said which stuck out the most was that He has never played in a team with such team spirit and togetherness and a hunger to get Hull City and themselves into the PL this season. He also said that @ HT last saturday NP said very little and the players themselves knew they had to up the anti in the 2nd half. NP is the best manager many here have played for. He said much more which was very good to hear. Oh yes. he mentioned that NP wants the team to play total football and to beat teams with skill not brawn.
Did anyone see Lee Clark on the FLS on Saturday? He was saying that Rhodes has a better scoring record than Shearer, Owen etc
That was the point I made after the Watford game: we played crap precisely because we played it their (cheating) way. They dictated how we played and, to be honest, if we're gonna play 'total football', we can't allow that to happen. Seems like we're starting to play PL football in the Champs?
may as well start as we mean to go on. imo, this squad can easily play @ PL level as they have that much ability.
Tbh (without being smug) that's what I felt NP's aim to be. He's not buying 'cloggers'/hard men; he's not playing 'hoofball'; we're assembling a squad of skilled/talented players. So many crit us as not having big men, but do we need to have?

from what Liam said last night NO. he would not want to play in a team of cloggers. Liam said if you are skilled like we are and keep the ball all that the cloggers can do is kick you and that is a complement. That then gives us free kicks. So thats one for you then UnaBomber. Liam also said that today the squad would watch the watford game again and go through the mistakes. I like what he said and the vibes coming from the club. Nothing like this was around even during the PL years. This club is BACK, and imo BETTER than ever.

Rhodes would be expensive, probably £2m plus but with Butterfield if you offered Barnsleh £1m in Jan they would snap your hands off, his contract is up in the Summer and he won't sign another. £3- £3.5m should do it. We splashed £2.5m last Janusry and the prize now is a Premiership place. I also wouldn't mind putting a bid in for Ant Gerrard. His contract is also up in the Summer and isn't currently in the squad and isn't injured.
