following on from Shiny's music man thread. I was chatting to someone who sees Hawkwind as much as possible nearly once a year. Ive seen U2 seven times and the The Killers 5 (once they was backing U2 so double bonus) What groups have you seen most and how many times?
Only ever see a artist once live, same as holidays i only go there once. Prefer to see, or experiance a different place.
I've seem a few bands on numerous occasions but they're not really my favourite bands. Seen Madness 7 or 8 times. UB40 5 or 6 times Simple minds at least 3 times U2 at least 3 times Michael Jackson twice.
Can understand the holiday, but surely if you enjoy the experience of a live band you would see them again?
Only seen 2 Jake Bugg Only The Brave. but have tickets for Catfish and The Bottlemen at Castlefield Bowl in July. Absolutely buzzing to see them, it sold the 8000 tickets in 6 minutes, they've got a UK Tour this year so hopefully Bristol/Cardiff is on the list. Want to see the Arctic Monkeys when they come back to the UK. Glad to see they've finally started to crack it in America after failing the first time, which is odd as their first album is still their best.
You can set an alert on Ticketmaster where they inform you when the tickets are due out etc. Artic Monkeys is a band that I've promised to take my daughter but I suspect when they come back here she will go with her friends instead.
Rush 4 times U2/Pearl Jam Rod Stewart many times Brian Adams many times Dire Straits many times Also saw many acts and well known musicians in their formative years at Chislehurst Caves in Kent. The would include Manfred Mann (I played Mike Hugg's drums), Jeff Beck, Stevie Marriot, Eric Clapton and so on. It was a wonderful time in my life because that's where I met my wife Ann, and who was the idiot that said that sex, drugs and rock and roll were bad influences. Load of old turnips. Tried to get tickets for either of 2 shows for Adele in Vancouver next June and they sold out in 20 minutes - shame for me.
Personally never think there as good second time around,i suppose the anticipation, and seeing them first time round had gone.
He sure was although that was a while ago ! He now lives on Long Island New York We have been petitioning the WSM MP to get him a Knighthood for his services to music over the past 6 decades. It's the least he deserves.
