Paulo Dicanio the Swindon Town manager has put in an offer to sign Ronan Murray on a permanent transfer. Jewell is considering the offer. Just don't make the same mistake of flogging off yet another decent youth prospect. I have always rated Murray and why sell him now after we have spent the time and effort bringing him through the academy without us getting any benefit? This would be another short sighted move if we agree to let him go. We should be selling Leadtwats, Edwards, Ellington, Delaney first before we offload the few young players we have left. I would only countenance this deal so long as we did a deal for Matt Ritchie coming the other way!

Edwards is the only one who would be ok still as a squad player.
I wholeheartedly agree that we shouldn't be selling Murray. What message would it send out to the other academy scholars to see yet another youngster sold on without really being given a chance. Even if we decide to upgrade to Cat 1 it won't make a jot of difference because nobody's going to want to come here when they don't see youngsters making it through to first team here. I understand that not everyone will make the grade but you have to give them a chance surely?

San Diego - Even the Dark Lord blooded some of the youngsters into the first team with the likes of Hyam, Troy Brown, Tommy Smith, Ronan Murray, Josh Carson all getting their chance. I just wonder why Russel Osman is still in charge of the academy! I mean he must be getting really pissed off when he see's these youngsters just being farmed out without getting into the first team.

We are half way through this transfer window and all we have done so far is sign a poxy keeper on loan from Reading! Where are the defenders we so desperately need!

As much as I don't particularly want us to sell him, I haven't seen enough of him to think he may make it as a top player, he's looked decent when I have seen him but nothing special, he's certainly not in the same bracket as many who we have sold off before such as rhodeds but I geuss he would be just as effective as Ellington if not more so and on lower wages!! Perhaps Jewell is thinking if he's not gonna get much of a chance here and his contract is coming to an end we may as well get something for him especially if the player wants to go there himself.

Its never nice to see youngsters sold off but the likes of the names you have mentioned such as troy brown, he went to rotherham couldn't get in the team there so has gone on loan somewhere else. Same as Eastman who went to Colchester, couldn't get in the team so now has gone out on loan I believe.

We should be trying to integrate youngsters in our team but alot of those who we think are good do not go on to do much. Though I geuss alot of them wouldn't do much worse than what we currently have. It was criminal for the club to allow Keane to sell rhodes. It was very poor indeed how players such as garvan and bowditch went of the ball and to an extent weren't given a chance. Whilst it was dissapointing selling Wickham we got good money for him.

Just nit picking here JWM Keane never played Carson, he made his debut under Jewell.

I too thought Josh had his first minutes under Keane.

Just another Jordan Rhodes waiting to happen...

rather than sell Murray to them why not bring in Di Canio and sign some of HIS excellent players... there's an idea.
