Think back to 04/05. We're top of the league. All of a sudden, Kuqi is out for three games. No problem, we'll get Scowcroft on loan. Watford and QPR at home both struggling, good chance of six points........

I hope this Muprhy injury doesn't have a similar result.

Also, he cannot continue scoring at this rate can he!? You can't go from the goal tallies he's getting to hitting 30+ one season surely!?

A lot of times players hit a lot of girls in one half of the season. Before last seasons 13 goal total, his best total was 10 back in 06/07! Makes one wonder what Terry Connor has done with the guy, and whether had he been coached differently 10 years ago he may have had a much better career !?

If he could score another 6 and make it 24 goals with others chipping in that'd be a great effort in my eyes! However he's more than welcome to continue smashing them in!

I think you should stop being a Drama Queen Westy!

Murphy has a slight calf strain and will be back next week and we have Dids back today with Sears and Hunt we have plenty of striker options. You can't compare the Murphy injury with what happened to Kuqi it is just bizarre to even make that connection.

And if he had " hit a lot of girls..." the club and he would be in much bigger trouble!

Call me a " drama queen " all you want - according to BBC report at the game " ipswich v Wigan was a drab game Ipswich BADLY missing Murphy................. "

It was a question worth posing - did we win? No, we did not!

Big loss for me, in games like that one someone to lump the ball up to is needed and without Murphy we don't really have that. Think we need another target man

The thing is we have back up this time as Warky has said, Murphs has been struggling from certain little niggles for a while but hopefully having a good couple of weeks off now he can come back firing.

Out of interest, what were our backup options when Kuqi got injured? was it Proudlock?

I do agree with this though, horses for courses, if we don't have murphs we need to refine our style of play to accommodate our replacements.

He's probably the most like a target man we've got but he ain't no target man. Given our style of play we really need another strong tall striker up there.
