Murphy Appreciation Thread

On his way to being a club legend and already better than ASM.

 

He’s ****ing ****. Everybody knows it, even Ian Wright called him out this week.

 

I wonder how many of those were intentional v mishit shots.

He's practised his passing the ball towards the goal in the first half and eventually found the target.

**** me, it’s almost irritating how people like Murphy and Howe go out of their way to prove me wrong.

 

Doing it on a regular basis now

 

They are still not the future. Murphy is having a purple patch mind.

 

Yeah, same as Miggy did a couple of seasons ago. Doesn't mean Murphy is suddenly going to be our long term RW. But he's decent to have as bench cover and proof that we can/should sell Miggy in Jan to make space and raise some funds (even if not much).

 

He's **** but having a purple patch...see Almiron in the champs league season.

 

We just desperately need Howe to follow the Fergie model and aim to get someone in NOW, not when Murphy fades again.

 

Assist of the Season today with that back heel.

Seriously though, this purple patch of goals and assists doesn't disguise his all-round limitations. Much like Miggy's good spell a couple of seasons ago. Ultimately he should be a bench warmer to cover someone of higher quality in a more consistent basis.

 

Johan Bakayoko will be his replacement.
