I wonder what Curbs has to say about this? http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/41193378 It wasn't Murphy it was Curbs who was forcing him out? I never liked Murphy. AllHell
Objectionable little character and a p1ss poor TV pundit as well. Curbs put down about Murphy's wife rings very true.
He didn't like being bollocked at H/T by Curbs in full public view on live TV. Got himself sent off on live TV by throwing a strop when we were 1-0 down to Arsenal. His attitude on the pitch was very poor that season, clearly not trying too hard. Piss-poor pundit now as well.
Wasn't it Benitez who got rid of him from Liverpool? Didn't stop him name-dropping about his "mate" Steven Gerrard to the other Charlton players. There was a reason why the Charlton fans stopped singing his name in his last season, they saw through his lack of effort, and so did Curbs.
He loves talking about players commitment and dressing room harmony. I'm sure I've heard him talk about players who have ideas above their station too
It's complete BS. He physically grabbed one of the staff coordinators arm on match day and told them to look after his Rolex as "it was worth more than what they earnt in a year". Curbs caught wind and dropped him 90mins before KO. I might have my timings wrong, but think this was when curbs then threw the tea dispenser (or whatever they're called) through the dressing room wall. Murphy is pure scum.
Murphy was the ultimate nothing player. Bags of talent but content to sit out his career of various benches. I remember Curbs sarcastically saying something about celebrity parties as the primary motivator!!
Curbs is a man of the highest honour & integrity. He said that Murphy sought out a move to Spurs because his wife - a WAG - didn't get invited to enough film premieres because he played for Charlton. Curbs or Murphy ? I know who I believe.
The fact that he's come out with a pack of lies like this proves that Charlton fans have always been right to hold him in contempt, which they showed when we played Fulham.
