Recorded the game and just put it on now but apparently Muntari was briliant on the left of midfield, unlike his average performances in the holding role for us. I seen an interview with Gyan in the Sunderland Echo a couple of weeks ago suggesting Brucie try Muntari in this role Wonder what he will do
Hopefully do it, but it requires he along with the two other attacking midfielders to get beyond Gyan for it to work. I hope Brucey was taking note.
Henderson -inside right, Sessegnon out wide Cattermole -inside left, Muntari out wide - that'll do me.
maybe push him foward abit, he kept coming inside so i would play him on the wing but if our 2 cms played in a kind of diamond with muntari getting foward more, having said that it might be too much of a risk against city as they play 3 cms
what ever happens, sunday is set to be a great game. Lescott will be wanting revenge against Gyan for making him look so average KTF
I personally think he was a little more central than people are saying. I did however like him in the more advanced role. IMO he has been good for Sunderland so far, with a superb performance at Arsenal, and starting excellently against Liverpool. On Sunday I would love to see us line up with the 451/433 as below (the wide lads linking up in the 433 when attacking) Mignolet Bardsley Bramble Mensah Richardson Sessegnon Henderson Cattermole Muntari Welbeck Gyan Campbell on the bench too if possible.
