Munich air disaster documentary

Did anyone see the documentary on the Munich air disaster on Sunday night? Watched it and found it a very moving drama, and a good insight into the disaster and how it affected those involved. Even though the disaster was 50 years ago and way before my time as a football fan i was moved to tears by it and you can't even begin to imagine what it would be like should such a disaster occur again in modern day football.

missed it due to being away but will certainly be catching up with it on the i player.\but your right it would be unthinkable for it to happen in the modern age, truely tragic.

i assume by documentary, you mean the drama with david tennant in? i saw it, and i agreed thought it was very moving, thought some of the acting was brilliant..ive seen the lad that played Bobby Charlton in quite few things, hes very good, as is Tennant..
i know a lot of people think things like that shouldnt be made, but it brings in to the attention of a new generation..i admit i have read and studied a lot about hillsborough, but have never given much thought into munich, until sunday when i started reading about all the different charachters involved etc..
didnt know about that Jimmy Murphy..was approached by Brazil to manage them, but didnt like the limelight...couldnt believe they went on to win the next game and make it into the cup final...

Yeah thats the one, a synopsis somewhere described it as a documentary. I think it's good these things are made for the reason that you state, there are a minority of supporters who chant things about the disaster to Man United fans, and 50 years ago or not, we're all football fans and like with Hillsborough it's right we remember these events and behave respectfully towards the clubs affected.

Not a fan of Tennant though, i thought he was ****e as Dr Who.

Yeah it was very good. Tennant was rather good in it and the lad who played bobby charlton was in the second series of skins playing a very different role ha. His Geordie accent wasnt the best, but I like him as an acto. Overall it was very moving drama, well written etc. Matt Busbys son had a whinge about it, because his dad wore a fedora hat in it or something stupid, was on bbc sport website the other day. Watching it I think it was the only time in my life i wanted man u to win a game of football, but yeah staggering they managed to win that fa cup game not long after. Is there any of our older members who can remember seeing Duncan Edwards play?

The Kid who played Charlton was brilliant. The whole thing was great apart from Busby who seemed to have a Russian accent and look like Vito Corleone.

Duncan Edwards was a fantastic player and could have become one of the all time greats, very reminiscent of Franz Beckenbauer at his peak.There were so many others in the team that had great skill also for their age. Truly a tragic moment in soccer history.

superb film.. very emotional for all football fans..
