Reported by the Birmingham Mail: http://www.birminghammail.net/birmi...ark-swoops-for-hayden-mullins-97319-31377453/ Hayden Mullins is apparently very close to sealing a move to Birmingham City. The Article says its not yet clear what, if anything, they will have to pay for him but for us its somewhat good news as its another player signed during our premier league days being off-loaded so hopefully that will both reduce the wage bill and increase Appleton's options, especially if we lose Varney and Norris soon as well as Mokoena.
Now reported in the News: http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/pompey-past/mullins-set-to-join-birmingham-1-4046522 The deal involved cancelling his contract with Portsmouth so he can move on for free. The News also confirms that Norris, Varney and Mokoena are expected to leave by the end of the week. That would leave us with the problem of Lawrence, Kitson, Husklepp, Halford, Kanu and Tal Ben Haim for the wage bill, though I would not be surprised to see most of them gone before the transfer window closes.
The News is no reporting that he's having his medical today: http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/pompey-past/mullins-has-birmingham-medical-1-4046522 They also report that he was on a £20,000 a week contract.
He is apparently going on a free transfer, I hope if there's a signing on fee is is used to offset some of the money due to him.
