Matth seems to have given up with his succint threads so I'll step in.

It's tonight, eight o clock kick off, at Old Trafford and it is NOT on TV. Shock.

Be nice if we try to win this one given we blew the league cup and won't win the league. I fully accept these games are for the reserves though so I expect the likes of McTominey and Tuanzebe to get a run, hopefully.

I kind of hope we draw as I've got tickets for the Stoke PL game and this has been moved to Monday night. If we draw it gets moved back to the Saturday so I won't be having to take days off work!

We should piss it though really.

Derby are flying high in the Championship so might not be a pushover. I'll go for 2-0 United.

What's that got to do with this mate?

You asked the difference, we played Bristol City away and are playing Derby at home.

Surely you can see the difference.

Another nice goal from Lingard, we will miss that boy if he gets injured. Nice to see Fellaini back, he won our only defensive header when he came on and has been missed in games we have tried to see out for a win.

Typical bentasfuck referee giving yet another non existent penalty to the RS. Absolute travesty.

The RS are finding it difficult to win matches without the referee's help. It costs less to get on good terms with them than having to buy good players for tens of millions. These situations will become more frequent as the Barcelona bound Brazilian waves them goodbye. :D

Lingard is now establishing himself as part of our best XI at the same time as Mhiki is steadily but surely placing himself on the transfer list. Rashford Has got pace and gets many chances but how many times can we afford for him to hit the post? Lukaku is fast too and unsettles defenders. But there is no doubt in my mind now that lingard, Lukaku and Martial should be in,

    Our best team is IMO

DeGea, Bailly (injured) Jones (injured) Valencia (injured) Young (suspended), Matic, Pogba, Lingard, Martial, Mata, Lukaku.

Fellaini does a job shielding the defence against long high balls and when a plan B is needed. But in some 'easier' matches, JM's habit of trying to defend a lead by bringing on Fellaini is the wrong thing to do.

I could have written that, we have very similar views on the team <laugh>

To me Rashford looks like he needs a couple of weeks rest, his burst of speed seems to have gone when trying to go past people which I hope is just tiredness. I think Jose has a good thing going with his switching of him and Martial, whichever comes on around the 60min mark always seems to benefit from the others work. I just hope they both understand and appreciate this and don't start whinging about wanting to start every game.

Agree 100% on this being our best side.
I would guess Lingard and Mata are interchangeable and Martial more rigidly off the left.
Rashford is a useful sub for any of the front three and, with his pace against tiring defenders, is always worth half an hour. Martial and Mata rarely get more than an hour anyway!
Ultimately Shaw is playing well and so will trouble Young for his place and we need similar at right back to challenge Valencia.

I don't see a place in the side at all for Mhkitarian and Herrera and Fellaini are both useful reserves a when needed.

Lukaku needs someone as back up/challenge for his place. We should pursue Dybala if the stories are true.

Would you go for Dybala or Greizmann? I would prefer Dybala. I think Real would get one of the two and we would be left to fight perhaps PSG for the other player. But with PSG spending on Mbappe this summer, I think they would be short. Hopefully Dybala opens up.

PSG will not be short but Dybala would be good in place of Mhyki.
Not sure about Greizmann, he is a fantastic player but I the same mould as many other fantastic Atleti strikers (Costa excepted), he is better "on the break" with the use of speed and clinical finishing. With us he would have to perform against a packed defence most games.
