Sounding a little better (from the radio commentry) but I'm still a little worried that we gave another goal away with minutes of play left. The calls for Fletcher to go will subside for the time being but a couple more losses will put us back where we were and Fletcher will again be public enemy #1. Anyway a win is a win and I for 1 am grateful for that!

BC....We will have to wait for sensible to arrive home from the pub after a drink or two with his mates.

Lets hope it was down to Argyle playing well and not down to Northampton knackered after two games in 48 hrs plus the journey.

Come on sensible we are waiting for the oracle to speak.

Im hear in my solbre stut.

Seriously though folkes this was a game of two halves. First half was same old Argo and it wasn't very impressive. However, second half saw the intro of Griffiths.

Have to tell you the revelation was something to behold. Totally different Argyle second half and they started with an attacking attitude which in itself is quite refreshing. He made a difference. He was instrumental in the first goal and set up and scored the second. I nearly cried when I saw him sat on the pitch holding the back of his leg. If, and I know it's easy to say, he had stayed on the pitch then it's my opinion we would have won more comfortably than we did. This player is in my view going to be the difference between an ordinary Argyle and a fairly decent one. Trust me the transformation was startling.

First half we were very ordinary and to go behind wasn't that much of a shock. Not that they were any great shakes either. It took 20 minutes before anyone had any sort of shot in anger. No corners and just a lot of passing the ball about. That is about as good as it got for both sides. They did not deserve their halftime lead except they did manage to put the ball away.

Second half we went onto the front foot right from kick off. The lump ball up to Feeney was replaced by the lump ball up to Griffiths who actually won and controlled the ball. Neat little lay off and ball into the box and there was Feeney to nod it home. Something that should be the supply to him rather than lumping it up and expecting him to do something. Next goal was a ball to Griffiths once again and another good lay off. Ball into the box again which was knocked back to an oncoming Griffiths who finished with the class of an established league striker. He then went off with an injury and Nelson was about the only one left to bring on. He played upfront which may surprise some. There was another move down the left and a decent cross which he netted with a good header. After that they looked a bit shaky having reverted to the defensive rather than attacking mode. Some stout defending saw them into extra time where they let one in from nothing. From kick off they gave the ball away instantly and looked shaky for the last few seconds but hung on. Overall they need Griffiths on the pitch but it was a decent second half and right result.

Thanks for your report SENSIBLE...I guess we will have to wait and see how long Griffith will be out..hope he is not an injury prone player..

I guess we all wondered why Nelson was put up front..but why not..it seemed to work anyway..

I did watch the West Ham game..Andy Carrol made a huge difference..lets hope Griffith can do the same for Argyle..

Also nice to see Argyle move up to 15th...

They also changed the formation in the second half didn't they sensible? First half Feeney alone up front = asking for trouble IMO.

We did indeed Mrs lalala. Playing at home with one stiker who cannot receive and hold a ball up. We know this because it became patently obvious for a lot of last season. You can't blame Feeney it just isn't his game. But, and this is where plym will go into meltdown, if you give Carl Fletcher a kicking for his tactics when it goes wrong then by the same token you have to give some credit when he changes it and the match changes. Totally different set up second half and Feeney allowed to do what he can do better. Griffiths looked like a league player of some experience. That was down to Fletcher changing things and it worked. Bold move bringing on Nelson and playing him upfront as a striker. Again it worked. If Argyle can reproduce the second half over and over they will be fine. If not then...............

looked brilliant second half; griffiths actually capable of holding the ball and i cant remember a single instance of him giving not giving it to an argyle player. Then the attacking move for the second goal was brilliant, it was fluid 4-5 passes, the ball put into a dangerous area and the the half clearance being calmly slotted home by the fireman. The nelson move really made the most sense in my opinion. obviously if we conceded to make it 2-2 fletch would have been slated but nelses aerial & physical presence would have been far more useful than gurrieri, lennox of gorman in a dead ball situation...just the cherry on the cake that he scored! The thing that worried me was the goal - it looked as though we expected no challenge from northampton after the board went up; they hit the post, had two corners and after the goal we gave the ball away straight from kick off!! the ball was sloppily played back from the centre circle as if the players didnt think northampton would be likely to chase it despite being one behind. Had Berry not been fouled from that loss of possession we could be here discussing 2 points lost.
But too much negative...overall we looked amazing second half, with bhasera playing like that he will be our most important player this season as could griffiths. Could have scored more!

Sounds like Griffiths can make the step up then if we can keep him fit. That is his game sensible very strong and excellent at linking up play plus added bonus of beign a finisher. Would like to see Simms playing behind him at some point could bring him on too.
