Folks Iam delighted with our result against Bolton and whilst i dont begrudge young Connor his accolades, I thought Vaughan was magnificant, again he linked up the midfield and closed down when needed. I kinda get the impression that this lad will always be the type who will quietly go about his business without too much fuss..and I for one am very grateful that we have a player in that mould. What do you folks think of the lad ?

Excellent player and is my first choice for one of the two midfield slots. Won't be to long before he curls one in from outside the box.

Biffa the fact he was left out of the team for the opening 5 games is a disgrace. Probably our most composed player in every game Ive seen him in so far and would be my first pick every week on the team sheet.

Bruce can certainly pick a player but my gripe is he doesnt know how to pick a team because this lad should have been in the starting 11 against Liverpool and so should Connor Wickham, who was a right bloody handful all afternoon for Cahill and that ****ing thug Robinson and he didnt give an inch.

Our midfield today was excellent imo and I'd leave well alone from now on. Larsson and Sess out wide with Colback putting one helluva shift in and Vaughan sitting comfortable, tidy and neat as ever.

I agree Cest, that Midfield out there against Bolton was the most settled looking and balanced midfield Ive seen from our lot all season. Like you though mate, unfortunately I wouldnt be surprised if Mr Bruce starts bloody tinkering again. The lad Vaughan though is a player Iam delighted with, canny pass on him and as you say very comfy on the ball. The lad has to remain in the side.

Guess it's getting harder for Gardner to get in the team now..

Agree. Our midfield today was composed, had skill & no nonsense hard tackling.

Personally I would also have Meyler on the pitch before catts. Not knocking catts for his commitment but imo he is too much of a liability.

I agree with the general sentiment regarding the midfield. I was also very impressed with Colback yesterday.

IMO Gardner should come into consideration for home games due to the goal threat he gives. I would leave well alone for next week though.

Catts would be 5th choice for me at the mo, behind the 3 above and Meyler

We have so much cover in there its going to be hard to please everyone and to me larrson Vaughan and Sess should be the first 3 names on the sheet.
Colbeck has had a tremendous season so far and i well worthy of the 4th spot but i think maybe we should look at the opposition and see whether we need some hard tackling in their in which case maybe catts or gardner.
This brings us to the problem of our Captain i still say it should be given to Brown as Catts has lost it.

Maybe with so many good midfielders we should play 5 across the middle lol

Joking only joking FFS i did'nt mean it lol

Gardener has disappointed me so far but he has been in and out of the team more times than your left foot in the hokey cokey. Bruce has got to stop ****ing about week to week with the team, formation and tactics. Get some stability in the team ffs and leave well alone. Same team for Saturday and for Old Trafford and let this team grow together. My only change is to put the player of the season back into the left back spot as Richardson is a very poor defender imo and a constant weak link yesterday fro me.

We have 3 front men over 6ft 3 and in Bendtner and Wickham we have 2 brutes up front. Time to play to those strengths and 4-4-2, with an attacking and high tempo game is required. We have to get the ball up to the 2 lads up front and pressure the game, taking it to the oppoosition. Ji isnt a physical 6ft 3 but will develop as the season progresses and his time will come.

    Mig

    O Shea, Brown, Turner, Bardsley

    Larsson, Vaughan, Colback, Sessegnon

    Wickham, Bendtner

Subs: Westwood, Elmo, Richardson, Ji, Catts, Gardener, McClean

Yes Vauhan was good, Colback's part in the second goal even though he never touched the ball was massive. Drawing 2 defenders towards him thus leaving Bendy wide open on his own to receive the pass & slot the ball home.

Ricco looked in a canny bad way to me when he came off so we may have to play Bardo in at lb.

Why do we persist with Larsson on the left though?

What you're suggesting, Cest, can work for us in other ways, too. It's the pace and end-to-end character of the English game that attracts world audiences. It can help sell us, and we do need that to finance the wage bill.

I agree that Bardo is better for LB than Richardson, though I wouldn't necessarily blame Ricco for being the weak link. The tactic of playing Larsson on the left so he can cut in onto his best foot, and getting Ricco to overlap is asking an awful lot of the lad. I think faulty tactics has been half the problem with Ricco, but Bardo's a more natural full back anyway.
