"I wish to register my extreme surprise and disappointment at the sudden and in my view totally unjustified termination of my agreement. I had very much been looking forward to assisting in the development of a successful Hull City squad this summer. I have enjoyed my association with the Club and wish them success in the future. This matter is now in the hands of my lawyers and I will be making no further comment until it is resolved to my satisfaction”.
in case it hasnt been done already http://hullcityafcnews.blogspot.co.uk/2012/05/adam-pearson-statement.html
so if we can all keep at ground level on the reaction scale without listening to Burns and co for a short while - a possible scenario is, Adam Pearson's contract was cancelled as a cost saving measure (I guess he would have been on a good un as a 'non-employee' consultant). As a result Nick Barmby said summat in the heat of a moment yesterday and was therefore suspended as would any employee be in such circumstances. Maybe Nick needs to sleep on it and realise that the business end of the game is for grown ups and he should apologise and get back to his job. Just a thought?
Nick being sacked had absolutely nothing to do with Pearson, Nick was sacked because the owners didn't like what he said he in an interview, it's pathetic.
So is it a complete coincidence that AP has been sacked the day after, is it related or is it just that they want to ruin the club in the shortest space of time feasible?
Tickler, there is no reason to think the same would happen to anyone else. If the owners and management are working together towards the same goals, why should it? Owner say, manager do. Simples. I think that is now quite clear.
So is that a complete coincidence or are they related in any way? (e.g. one of them having a paddy about the other being sacked and then being told were to go by the owners) In fact, what has AP actually been sacked for? Just to save money?
To save money and because they didn't have the slightest idea of how useful he was. They'll probably discover how useful he was when we get to August and we've still got Ghilas, McShane and Oli on the books.
I'd imagine it being the first working day after the end of the season makes it the best time to make either change, rather than when you've got games coming thick and fast.
Considering the football nous our owner has demonstrated so far and his eagerness to kick out the two most knowledgeable people at the club, I would say that was a recipe for disaster. Simples. Mr Allam is a rich man with a big ego. In this situation he has acted like a petulant tyrant and I think we have good reason to be concerned if this is typical of the way he intends to conduct business in the future.
