http://www.standard.co.uk/sport/int...t-the-players-know-when-im-upset-8442200.html Interesting interview with GZ here.....
yep, I think we are lucky to have him and I can't remember the last time the crowd sang for the manager, perhaps it was GT?
Regards singing, I was wondering about this recently. As someone who can't get to games, what are the GZ songs ? Any other songs currently buzzing? edit: Yes, a good article indeed.
Zola gave quite a few interviews before the game with Manchester City, and in every one the journalist came away impressed. There is no doubt he is a class act, and he is raising the profile of the club in a good way. We may need this positive publicity when the Bas affair becomes of interest to the mainstream media....
Of course.... As everyone says GZ is quite a class act....... A little more integrity methinks than .. erm... "Mr integrity"....
When GFZ was removed from West Ham, a lot of the fans there were very unhappy. He had become very popular as a person and with the style of play that he wanted the team to play. Their loss is our gain I am sure. However he cannot do it all on his own and seems to have the backing from the owners who have provided us with players who have the skills that we have not seen for many years. GT in his early days at Watford knew that entertaining football would bring the fans back. From a lowly 5,000 or so he was proved right, and I believe the value we get for money now will eventually see more people coming to watch what the revolution is all about. As Roger says the only fly in the ointment is what the FL will want to do about the Baz affair. While we still seem to be in a position to challenge for a top spot people will come to help with the finances, but should the authorities impose sanctions that make that impossible, I can see everything being put on hold until next season.
Ignoring those who we sang for as players, you're probably right. Unless "de-de-de-de, Aidy Boothroyd" or "[every manager since GT]'s Taylor Made Army" count.
In the case of MM and SD, we basically used the chants from when they were players at the club (or in SDs case, from when he was captain).
Yes- but could anyone send me the sheet music? Certainly did sing about Malky and his beer and his pie. Also seem to remember the cup run to the semi final v. Southampton "Terry & Ray, Terry and Ray, we're going to Wembley with Terry & Ray." So manager and coach in that one!
Thanks, nice article, I was angered when SD left, Wasn't sure if Zola could cut it, he ain't doing too bad so far....
Zola will always command a certain amount of respect because he was such a great player - in many ways he can afford to be nice.
Michel Platini was a great player but, unlike Zola, has an over-inflated idea of his own self-importance.
I did read that Paolo Di Canio was offering £30,000 of his own money to pay the wages of some of the loanees he currently has.
Chris Martin from Norwich and 2 others I believe OFH - but they have gone back..so made no difference. I hope Martin plays aginst the scummers and gets a hat full of goals
Do people on here actually care about what the manager (or any manager for that matter) says in his pre/post match interviews?? I dont. Let the football do the talking instead!!!
