I don't normally have any sympathy for Chelsea FC, and I'm not really fussed about Swansea - but....
The game in Swansea was good to watch. The referee got most [minor] things right. Thank goodness there was one major incident for both teams that the referee & linesmen got terribly wrong - which, at least, balanced out the appalling decisions.

    1. Cahill dithered with the ball - and got 'dispossessed' - and Swansea scored. There were no other players in the vicinity - and the referee was a few feet away and had an unobstructed view - How could he not have seen that Cahill was tripped ?

    2. Diego ( Prima Donna) Costa's equalising goal should never have been given. I can admire the skill of a perfectly executed bicycle kick - but -- the fact remains - it was 'dangerous play.' His foot was being violently exerted at head height - in fact - the foot actually connected with the defender's head. The fact that Costa's leg is at head height next to the head of a defender is a little difficult for even Mr.Magoo to have missed - yet somehow the referee failed to see it ( or somehow understand that it was dangerous).

A few days ago I talked about TV referrals by teams - these are the obvious type of incidents that I mean - that could have a major influence on the score - because they invariably involve goal scoring incidents. Luckily for Mr.Magoo Marriner, he managed not to see enough incidents to cancel out his mistakes .......... but - two wrongs do not make one 'right' - they make two wrongs !

I know that brb will tell me that the aforementioned incidents are exactly the ones that create talking points in the pub..... I do get it -- but I'd rather not talk about the glaring mistakes by the officials.
On Saturday, there wee enough mistakes committed by The Gills ( including JE ), to form all the talking points you'd need until closing time - and not one bad decision by the referee to discuss..........
....... actually - I'd rather not need to talk about mistakes by The Gills - it's too repititive and boring .

alwaysright - think of it like this , if TV was controlling our game, you would not be discussing these points this morning. Instead you would be boringly going round in perfected circles like an F1 car <ok>

Maybe so - but my car wouldn't exactly be 'jet' propelled !
It's a pity that at GFC all we've got is a Reliant Robin and no money for petrol ( and a garage with no roof )
I don't know about F1 racing - probably more like donkey derbies - if a certain Mr.E-Thomas and Tommy Trewblu had a drag race, ( over more than 3 yards ), who do you think would win.............................. my money would be on a bag of cement !
