He is in my opinion the best player the Premier League has ever had, so it as great to see someone who has been there, done it and bought the T shirt commenting on the big games..

Obviously the red and white glasses preventing you from acknowledging Shearer as the best. Did the hardest job on the pitch, scoring goals, and did it better than any other premier league player by scoring the most.

Shearer was an excellent player and I'm happy to acknowledge that...However, in my opinion Henry was a far better all round player..

Can't argue with either point. My own preference is for the goalscorer as it's the hardest thing to do. Football player wise I would look at the likes of Beardsley or Ginola or Zola.

All excellent players in their own right, and i would also add Bergkamp and Cantona to that exclusive list.. However it is my opinion that Henry was the best of the bunch, but I'm sure we will all have our own choices on this..

Shearer wasn't fit lace Bergkamp's boots. Only Cantona comes close to Bergkamp imo

Each to their own opinion but you may
    1. Want to take off your red and white tinted glasses
    2. Check the facts
    3. Try not to go over the top when voicing an opinion as it doesn't actually persuade people to your view.

You may think Bergkamp was better which would be your opinion but to say Shearer wasn't fit to lace his boots just makes you look as stupid as our team yesterday.

    1. I don't support Arsenal and never have so not sure what your point is in red and white tinted glasess? You're the one selecting on of your own players the best <doh>
    2. Thinking goals are the be all probibly says more about you more than anything.
    3. How have I gone over the top in voicing an opinion by giving my opinion in a polite way using one sentence while you've ran off to collect stats, who's really gone over the top?

I think Bergkemp is the Greatest Premier League player of all time. I'm sorry it upsets you. But it's quite funny how my opinion makes you react. For the record, Paul Scholes completes my top 3. I better take my red and white tinted glasses off with all the Sunderland players I've selected in my top 3 <doh>

1 Who says you did? Sunderland play in red and white as well, or didn't you know?
    2.Where have I said that?
    3. Fit to lace boots comment. OTT.

    Upsets. <laugh>

Also you may wish to take some maths lessons Bergkamp and Scholes make 2 not 3. <doh>

See, I can use smileys too.

    1. Bergkemp didn't play for Sunderland so why have I got red and white tinted specs on?
    2. You compared Shearer to Henry on goals. Fact
    3. it's just an opinion, again you're the one running off to present stats.
    4. I've already told you my 2nd was Cantona. I could say you've got black and white tinted specs for picking Shearer, at least that claim would actually make sense. But I'm not, I respect your opinion, shame you struggle with other people's. <ok>

As we seem to be two of a few on at the moment

    1. Your dislike of Shearer , indicated by the not fit too lace and impliedly Newcastle United players
    2. Again your attempt at a belittling comment - says more about you than anything - really isn't a persuasive arguement. And there really isn't the time or space to go into all facets of why I think so highly of Shearer, his goals though are a good starting point especially in comparing strikers.
    3. Try not to go over the top when voicing an opinion as it doesn't actually persuade people to your view.
    4. A new point. See my comments above to you and Raw
    a,
"Shearer was an excellent player and I'm happy to acknowledge that...However, in my opinion Henry was a far better all round player..
    Can't argue with either point."
    b,
"You may think Bergkamp was better which would be your opinion"

Hardly struggling to accept others opinions, I'm sure you will agree. Nice chatting with you.

still doesn't hide the fact hes a cheat ... just thought id bring up again so everyone knows what he is .... also adds nothing in commentary ..just because you score a lot of goals dosent mean to say your going to be a good in commentary . might as well of had a little moose on the cooch ... got know spice ,excitement and what the hell does he know about the north easth derby ..also SBR put this bloke in his place once when he spat oot his dummy at highbury .. always seems to look down at Newcastle .. cant stand the bloke ..

    1. I'm actually warming to the bloke, I enjoy his input on Match of the Day. He's really impartial which is refreshing and very respectable and I agree with most of what he says. Not seen MotD from last night, I'll need to see it on iplayer but always look forward to his view, just wish he had a bit more on screen chrisma.
    2. Arsey coments get arse reponses.
    3. You've already said that.
    4. I'd rate Shearer higher than Henry myself in my top 5

    Enjoy your bank holiday fella.<ok>:)

I think for what he contributed over a long period of time, Schmeichel has to be up there.
He single handedly won MUFC the title on year.
I'd have Shearer and probably Bergkamp as the other two.
