As you all (I assume) know he's made his move over to the MLS.
Scored a decent first goal a couple of mins into his debut.

Just curious to hear how you'd feel regarding the ongoing debate in Sweden if you'd be in a similar spot.
Should he play in the world cup or not?

He did retire from the national team. He didn't play a single minute during the qualifiers.

When he was asked about it in a recent press conference he responded.

"We'll see. Let's keep them on their toes....Because they're talking about, should he go, should he not? They say that they got it good without me. They haven't won anything yet and I know how to win, so lets see"

A statement which hasn't been all that appreciated in Swedish press.
We didn't win **** with Ibra, didn't even qualify the last times, so it's been labelled as a stupid comment by many.

The poll in a major newspaper gives a divided opinion as well
Yes - 44 % The gaffer has to call him right now
No - 56 % He should stay in LA

Obviously the best striking option we'd have, but would you take him considering all things?

    I ****ing love him.

It’s hope he’s at the World Cup.

He’s an actual literal living legend and football will be all the more poorer when he’s gone.

    This is not sarcasm btw.

    He’s fab.

You get to take 24 or 25 players?

In my eyes you have enough room to take a gamble on a player who still has the ability to change the game in a minute. Even if he is coming off the bench, worth a risk.

Sweden's goal scoring options without Ibra will be limited. Give him this inclusion. He shouldn't be around in 4 years time for selection possibly. Utilize that which your able now.

Fair points City1904 & Girt! Ibra would never come to the WC and start on the bench tho :)

How do you reckon you'd think if lets say...

Kane made it clear he's not interested in playing any qualifiers (lets also say you don't get an easy group as per usual thx to the seeding ;) )
    When it's clear you've qualified...
Kane says that he'd be up for playing.

If he's the best you've got ( and he is without a doubt) then you take him.

Yeah, we only produce a top class striker once a decade or so.
I wouldn't mind Henrik Larsson in his prime tho.

Current duo on top. They're doing a good job tho. Can you name them without cheating?

Kane’s good but he’s not our only goal scoring option.

    He’s also not Ibra.

Ibra is a once in a lifetime.

You literally have no one else as good as him.

He has to go. And start.

He could win you the World Cup.

You know it. He knows it. The world knows it.

No Sweden ad a team are worse when he plays. Every thing is about him and through him.

"We'd" not have knocked out Italy if he was playing.

He also messes up the whole dressing room with the Swedish national team which oddly he doesn't seem to do domestically.

Magical player but he's had his time for Sweden.

Maybe the problem is the other players?

Like England, Sweden don't have a hope in hell of winning it. So why not play Ibra just for the entertainment value?

Leave him in La La Land...he’ll be a successful flat track bully there

He didn’t help you get there...so bollocks to him

(I do quite like him mind you)

    Random guesses.
Borje & Ingmar ? maybe Harald & Mats. Engelard ?
Zlatan has an ego. So did Mohammed Ali. So did Pele, Cantona & Maradona. They all are/were winners.
ZI is still an inspiration. You don't play for 5 of the top European teams in world football, most recently with Man U, without being constantly at the top of the game.
It would be a loss if he didn't "strut his stuff" in Russia. He could change a game for you guys, even as a "designated sub". He gave others a chance by retiring...they may welcome his presence ?
    Bring it on I say.
I remember '58 when Pele shined and Juste Fontaine almost stole the show. It could be the same for Ibra too, he's only 10 years older, with 10 years more experience & guile.

Quite probably mate and previous management.

With Zlatan in his pomp Sweden didn't even make the last two world cups.

Without him, or any other real stand out stars they made this one very much playing as a team.

I think he's bloody ace, one of my fave ever players, but they shouldn't take him.

They've got to this World Cup without him, getting there ahead of Italy, the team that got them there should be the ones that play, not someone who had retired from internationals after Euro 2016 (a tourney he did absolutely **** all in), but suddenly changed his mind because his nation actually qualified.

I would assume that one of them is the Berg that was the best player at some tournament when we first got into the Prem (u17? U21?). I'll guess that the other one is Brolin or Limpar.

It's not unprecedented for retired Swedish internationals to be recalled. Larsson did it twice.
