I don't post much here but I have decided to do it today after that FA Cup game. I am an avid United fan and it pains me to witness how a 75,000 stadium has become great for visiting teams. I had my doubts when Moyes became manager of United but I was even more disappointed that Ferguson was solely responsible for that choice. Well, six months on and it is just one disappointment after another. The question is how long can United carry on making excuses for having Moyes as a manager? He is NOT up to the task and giving him more time is a huge risk. It's very convenient blaming the squad. But this is the very same squad that won the league 7 months ago. Another thing that jumps out is Moyes training methods. It seems more and more players are getting injured while those on the pitch simply lack intensity to take the games to oppositions. I know that we are only in January but I have to say that this is easily one of the worst seasons for United in living memory.
This is Manchester United we are talking about here. You seriously think that if United really wanted a top manager tomorrow that they would struggle? I think not!
Our options for manager? The last Bayern Munich manager until the summer. Gus Hiddink. Sir Alex Ferguson Capello til the summer Or indeed any manager on earth bar maybe 2 if we wanted them.
Is it time for a glorious return from retirement? Maybe he planned this all along to secure his legacy?!!
Their best option retired (finally ) As for the op....it really isn't the worst squad in my living memory but it's not far off....and remember it's Fergies squad not Moyes...yet. The simple fact is you've lost the referees bias (for now), you've lost the fear factor teams have had for years, you've lost a manager who was part of the foundations nevermind the furniture and yet there he is looming over the new man every week, Gill and most of the backroom staff leaving adds to the upheavel, you've not had a decent midfield for years and sold your soul to the NY devil which means your share price is currently crashing through the floor.....it ALWAYS had the potential to be a recipe for disaster. Blame Moyes all you want but this is 95% down to Fergie.
Personally I would hope he didnt but right now if he did I would be rather happy. As long as it was until the summer and with a view to getting in someone genuinely able to take us forward in the summer. The 4 above are all short term possibilities. Caretakers basically.
I did not know that. Nani must have threatened to leave for Moyes to pay that sort of money and for that duration.
I posted several of these down the months. All you'll get will be the usual blind drivel - 'stand by the man....' or'give him some time' 'he must be good, fergie said so - all of it like speeches from the blind faithful, carefully avoiding the rteality that Moyes is indeed crap. I can't even begin to think who would come in to replace him right now, but the longer he stays the worse it will be. I would happily break the bank to get a world class manager in rather than some marquee signing that we don't want or need except to make Woodward look good. Moyes out !!
King Kenny anyone?! This is turning into Roy Hodgson + Kenny untill the end of the season. I wouldn't bring him back. Its dangerous long term.
He gave him the contract ( fact is it had been under negotiation for over a year prior to Moyes ) and now doesnt play him.
