Apparently he walked last night. The club are expected to announce it today. Get Lambert in with McNeil as his asssistant.

Lambert is flying high at norwhich. why wud want to leave?

who ever comes in he's gony be left with a pile of **** players. celtic's defence is attrocious

No, I almost cried when I heard Curbishley was considered for the job last summer. He's a cockey ****-bucket.

Can't disagree there. What's the most embarrassing about the defeat last night is he managed to blame it on Walter Smith <doh>

"Rangers have been very consistent - they haven't lost four goals in any game," said Mowbray.

"They set up differently - maybe that's the way to go.

"Maybe it isn't a league for trying to force the game and be expansive - maybe it is a league for playing defensive, negative football and having quality up front to counter-attack."

Dunno about Lambert - what has he achieved? He has managed to get Norwich - who granted were relegated from the championship last year - almost back there - well Mowbray got West Brom to the Prem - so thats not an achievement.

We need someone who has some tactical awareness however - i never thought id say it but this clown is WORSE than Strachan when it comes to tactical nouse!!

i would be really worried if a was a tim right now. cant see a way out. we were in the exact same position with leguen and smith rescued us big time. if he didnt come in **** knows where we wud be right now.

I've been impressed with Lambert as a manager since I saw Colchester take on Chelsea in the cup a couple of seasons ago. His teams are well organised and like to play football without anything too fancy or high-minded. I'm not just basing it on Norwich and the fact he played for Celtic, I'm not a ****ing moron.

The man handles himself in the press well, he was a class-act as a player. He did his coaching badges in Germany, so will have some ideas a bit different to those who only coached in the UK. He is well respected in the Scottish game and has a good relationship with the press up here from his days as Scotland captain. Also he is still well liked at Celtic by the fans and those who run the club. Finally and most pertinently.....can he be any worse than Mowbray?

Yeah but then again i thought no one could be worse than Strachan!!!!

Im not saying Lambert isnt the right man - im just saying i feel we need someone who has a track record. No disrespect to Norwich or Colchester - but there is a slight step up. Dont get me wrong i know no one is going to take a step down to come to celtic - but right now we need someone experienced IMO.

But its all about opinions - not every celtic fan will be happy regardless of the outcome

its awrite anport, disrespect norwich and colchetsrer all ye want they're ****e <ok>

Agreed, was just pointing out that I'm not just basing it on the fact that I can click on the League One table on the BBC. Get Caesar or someone similar in there with him and give Lambert a go. Whoever comes in won't have as much pressure in the league games and can try and get a bit of stability in the squad.

Lamberts already said he wouldnt be interested.

Celtic will need a top manager with years of experience to sort out that shambles of a team.

Loving Mowbray's digs at Smith and Rangers tho, disproving the myth that he's a "nice big guy" and showing that he's really a bit of a petty bitter prick as well as an utterly ****e football manager <laugh>

Trappatoni will take over until end of season and celtic fans will no doubt love it cause he is the irish manager, since the believe there irish anyway

Mowbary Must Stay!!!!

Get back to 606. **** <ok>

RR2 are you stupid or just ill-educated? Probably the last SPL forum on the net where that pish will work.

Maybe is you said "Rape all Mowbray's" or "Mowbray is a Sex-Spider".......

Massively ****e post from a complete scrotal-wart.

Venom - press conference at 1pm, just been announced <ok>

Gutted <wah>

<laugh> Only about 8 weeks too late.....

I expected it to happen as soon as the fourth went in last night. He was on a rolling 12-month contract anyway. Celtic learned their lesson after Barnes...although the £1.5 million we paid West Brom for him is a massive waste.

The only saving grace is that he managed to get in a couple of players who I think will be good in years to come. N'Guemo has said he wants to stay. Rasmussen looks like a good SPL player and Ki has quality in abundance, he just needs time to settle in my opinion.
