He has left, the circumstances up for debate, but whatever story decides to suit you, whether you have an anti ashley agenda or wether you are philosophical about this and genuinly believe NUFC were caught out and let down by the lateness of this and the head turning of carroll by Liverpool.

The one thing that remains a constant is NUFC. So lets get behind the team.. look forward to the rest of the season (we have done ok without when he has been injured) and hope that come the summer there is significant investment in the squad!!!

So... those of you that want to assume a negative outlook and blame ashley, its up to you, but... the best way forward is to support the team and look forward to the summer in anticipation of some good signings!

I'm not wearing rose tinted goggles hear, i just dont see the point in the negativity!!!!

I'm pretty sure we won't go down, but what Carroll gave to the team would have had a serious bearing on where we finished in the league. I honestly belived with the team we have got with Carroll in it would have finished in the top ten.

Now I see it below 10th, but what should also be remembered is we havn't had Carroll in the team for 4-5 weeks yet still got results against Spurs and Sunland, we are light up front but the rest of the team are wading in and scoring goals.

We have players coming back into the team who can have an impact, it's not like we a currently relegation fodder.

So £35 Million and rising is a handsome figure for a player who has only been in the league for half the season and is coming back from injury, my main concern is getting over the finishing line (which I'm sure we can) and then hoping the Fat one reinvests a large chunck of that £35 Mill.

Fasten your seat belts for a ruff ride!!!!!!!

We have managed without carroll for a few weeks quite well. The problem i have is that he could have been out talisman for many years to come. Liverpool are no better than us now and to sell a player who will potentially hold the same value for the next 7 or 8 years just seems pointless to me, pointless to all but Ashley. You cannot buy players like carroll, they only come along once in a while and the so called big clubs buy them. Here we had a local lad with the world at his feet and no real desire to leave.

I am totally devistated by this. For the whole Ashley sagas so far i have kept going to support the team. To support thier own battle against the odds and against ashleys assett stripping charge. The team battled back to the premier league and back to top half of the prem with Carroll growing all along, heading in the right direction. Its totally deflatining.

We all know the money will not be invested in the squad
