Surely with Wayne 'the idiot' Rooney now suspended for the opening game(s) of the Euro's, and with Fabio now coming out and saying he will be left out of any pre-tourny friendlys to find a replacement, surely now its time for Mr Sturridge to shine.

Or will Fabio be as deluded as he was with leaving him out the squad on Friday.

Thoughts?

The problem may be that Dany is going to play out wide this season so can't see that suddenly he'll be playing up top for England especially given his lack of experience. Good shout for the squad but the sad fact remains we have no one anywhere near Rooney's level and he will be missed.

It would be nice to think Danny might develope into the new Rooney (but a better behaved one) but I think he's got to put a few more miles on the clock before we see regular England appearances!

Given Capello's apparent stubbornness on moving players from their club positions, I have a feeling this will be the case. Be nice to see someone else play the position well to show the squad isn't reliant on Rooney.
