    SpongeBob SquarePants gets ready to face penalties from QPR's Jude the Cat

    Football has a tradition of throwing up great individual rivalries.
    Over the years we have been treated to Pelé against Bobby Moore, Johan Cryuff versus Franz Beckenbauer, and more recently Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi have had us amazed with their silky skills.
    Now another rivalry which will have connoisseurs of the beautiful game salivating takes place - SpongeBob SquarePants v QPR mascot Jude the Cat.

    QPR's Jude the Cat slots home a penalty against SpongeBob
    The celebrated cartoon character will take on the Loftus Road mascot in an edition of Nick Kicks, which airs on Saturday (March 19) on the Nicktoons channel.
    The live-action kids football highlights show will feature a weekly SpongeBob v Mascot challenge, and see Jude use all her feline prowess in an attempt to score penalties against its aquatic opponent.

    Is it just me that finds these Harry Hill style club mascots bloody annoying.

    When did they start to appear on matchdays here in the UK anyone?

    Also what sort of contract are they on?
