Good for him. He's done well to respond to the new job Ralph had asked him to do, so he deserves that.
Delighted for him. He's worked his socks off in pre-season and has really done excellently at LB in Perraud's absence.
Despite his better than expected performances whilst filling in at left back, I was a little uncertain when I saw this news. But now I have seen this, it makes perfect sense. Theo only has a year left on his deal, so we will need someone to takeover his vitally important role in the dressing room.
There was a snippet I saw earlier from an ABK interview about how there are four of them who live really close together and seemingly travel in to training - ABK, Salisu, Perraud and Djenepo. Hopefully Salisu is next with an extension. But maybe his agent will wait until post world cup to see if there is any leverage there But promising that we have immediately moved onto contract talks after the transfer window closed - this was what it was suggested the plan was.
He has worked very hard this season especially considering he has been given a new role which goes completely against his natural instincts. He didn't complain and instead got on with it and did the best he could and it has shown in his performances. His work rate and tackling have improved and he has revelled in the extra responsibility. Good on him.
His decision making has improved massively too, He does well to usher the attacking player with no where to go to. Has the pace also to make up for a mistake if it arises.
