Mourinho, Rodgers and Koeman have all impressed this season but we're forgetting someone else

Very good read the bit I liked was "Garry Monk has revived Swansea City after a decaying spell under Michael Laudrup" very nicely put indeed, well done Monk for ending the rot!.............<cheers>

PS: mind this bit comes in a close second! "Monk is an embodiment of its values. Upon taking over, he went about ridding the team of Laudrup’s laissez-fare approach."........<laugh>

"With his bespoke suit and stylishly parted hair, Monk has the demeanour of an ambitious Wall Street investment banker rather than a Premier League manager, but the Swansea boss is right at home marauding the touchline and leading his men to success."

Europe beckons and, as things stand, the only way for Swansea – and him – is up."

The conclusion of the article is very nice too (above)..............<laugh>

Still obsessed with The Great Dane,as you are with me.

Michael Laudrup, took The Swans' to a top table finish, won a Major Cup,and took the team into Europe. If that's "decay",bring it on. <laugh>

    Bring what on libby?

As you well know the decay referred to set in post cup final. After that game we played a couple of good games but the issue was that were losing far too many, relegation beaconed and the then management team didn't appear to care about it.

These were valid enough reasons for dismissal but add in all the off field shenanigans and it was obvious even to the less cerebrally endowed that Laudrup had to go for the good of the club.

Our record post sacking exonerates the boards' decision and simultaneously justifies Monks appointment. Our club has moved on, exceeding all expectations. Care to move on with us libby?

He's certainly done well and with his understanding of the club he could end up being your manager for many years.

Which is key in this league. It will be a good summer to build on the work Monk has done this season, rather than everyone speculating if our manager is going to leave etc.

Perhaps it was the players under his control who were decayed?

I never argued against his dismissal, just the nature of it.
That is something The Monkees have not been able to comprehend.
My defending Laudrup had NOTHING to do with his removal. His time was up,but there is a way to deal properly with people and Jenkins had no idea how to do that, hence the enormous pay out eventually made to Laudrup.

Anyone remember the away game at Southampton? The Monkees were deserting the Monk ship faster than the water was coming in,until the 83 rd minute, and that Shelvey goal, and then all was fine again.
The hypocrisy of The Monkees is quite awesome.

"Care to move on with us?" No thanks,I prefer the company of people I could trust and rely on in an emergency.

This from the person who posted the following during the Southampton away game.

"I worry about the direction Monk is taking us". <laugh>

    Exactly Valley

Monks appointment was/is an essential necessity for our survival as a premier league club. The revolving door of managers, staff and players had to be closed as every year we were substantially weakened both as a club and as a business entity because of it.

Appointing Monk when we did was brave thing for the board to do, pretty shrewd too. Imo, though, Monk was always the long term plan of the board, he was always going to be our manager and Laudrup was the last straw for the board, forcing them to play their hand a little sooner than planned.

Monks' appointment was a shock to us and many but doubt it was as surprising to the board, the club, the players or even to him. It was an inevitability that was long planned, imo ever since his right boot saved us in the Championship Play-off.

Even-so he has done remarkably well and his appointment is justified by the results of a season and a half in charge.

I am still not convinced it isn't Nicholas Lyndhurst having a lend and not Monk

With all the good that's been going on with us this year libby have you nothing positive to say about our club. We are after-all, 9th in the premier league, with 43 points, we are no longer considered premier league push-overs and this year relegation is a word we've never used, not once unless referring back to last year. So libby, do you have anything to say, about football that is?

I do suggest you APOLOGIES to us all though libby. In just a few short lines you managed to label people with differing opinions to yours as MONKEES, UNTRUSTWORTHY, UNRELIABLE, OBSESSED and HYPOCRITICAL.

How you managed to deduce all of this on such slender evidence, posts written by members, is truly remarkable. The only constant your targets have, being you disagree with their opinions.

I thought my OP was polite and current but your response was neither.

I politely ask therefore that you appreciate that people with differing views to yours are not MONKEES or UNTRUSTWORTHY or UNRELIABLE or OBSESSED or HYPOCRITICAL as you suggest. Simply we are of differing opinion to yours and our/their views and opinions are as valid as yours.

So libby, realise your character assassinations as folly, man up and APOLOGIES, we are not MONKEES, UNTRUSTWORTHY, UNRELIABLE, OBSESSED or HYPOCRITICAL, we are football loving, Swansea Doting, club supporting individuals who come here from time to time for a chat and to find out about anything Swansea City Football Club.

Suggest you change your attitude libertarian, APOLOGISING would be a start.

My "attitude" is fine. I'm a reactionary, and my "attitude" is to react.

Apologise for what? Having a different viewpoint to a group who change their opinions from game to game, even half to half.
    No,I think I'll pass on that,as well.

Apologise to people who insult and abuse those with opposing views. Not a chance in hell of that happening.

Oh,and I make observations based on what I have read on this, and the previous forum. My opinions have been crafted and honed by considerable experience.

Oh,before I forget,I will continue so to do,and if you,or any others, find my opinions not to your liking, just ignore my posts. Simples, really,I'm surprised I had to point it out.

Enjoy the rest of your day.
