http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo.../Lassana-Diarra-left-Real-Madrid-trip-US.html Anything in this or just paper talk? Is he a player you would like to see at Man Utd?
I'd have him. We need a proper DM now that hargreaves has officially gone. Will go well alongside sneijder in a 442
But his never been at a club like Manchester United (Best club in the world) ha.... I would love to see him here if I'm honest always like him in that DM role and would give us a little bit more steel in the middle which we need.
Lassana Diarra From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Lassana "Lass" Diarra (born 10 March 1985 in Paris) is a French footballer who currently plays for Real Madrid. His predominant position is defensive midfielder but he can also play in a more advanced role and has played at right back, which he occasionally did for former clubs Chelsea and Portsmouth, as well as France.
He's very limited. If you want a guy to foul and niggle every game and do very little else, then he's the man. If you want a footballer, look elsewhere.
I wouldn't say that. From his time at Pompey, he seemed more than handy on the ball, pacey and wanted to push forward with the ball at his feet. Think he is more than just a DM.
You might be thinking of Mahamadou Diarra, who's 30. He also played for Real, and was also linked with us a few years back. For me Lassana Diarra is one of those players, like Scott Parker, Mateja Kezman and Wayne Bridge, who could have had an awesome career but made the mistake of moving to Chelsea in the early part of the Abramovich era. He got chewed up a bit by their system and never got a chance to establish himself. But he's come on leaps and bounds and Pompey and Real, and I think with SAF's ability to develop players he could be awesome for us, and would definitely be a better DM than anything we've got right now.
Swarbs - Very well said mate, I can totally see this guy in our starting line up. To be fair we should have signed him when he went to Pompey was just the fact Real come in offering to buy him for about £17m I think it was or something very close to that amount. Now that Owen gone we need this type of player and trust me the lad's got alot more to his game an just fouling and niggle. I think people forgot what a great time he had playing under pompy and was voted there best player that year before he left for Real.
