Pretty disgusting really. Mourinho has six games to negotiate and wins all three Premier League games yet gets pipped to it by Pochettino whose side only played three matches, two of which were at home to Swansea and Fulham. Having negotiated a heavy fixture schedule and taken a huge scalp in Manchester City that clearly wasn't enough for those bunch of buffoons to give him the award. The only manager with a 100% winning record in October as well with 9 goals scored in the process and match changing substitutions vs Norwich and Cardiff. Aguero also winning Player of the Month ahead of Suarez is also another joke. As well as Aguero played, Suarez was far more worthy of the award and was the only player of the nominees to score a hattrick. How people can say Mourinho is loved by the media and Football authorities is beyond me.
Chelsea had a perfect October. 4-0 and 3-0 away wins in Europe. 2-0 away win at the Emirates. And a hattrick of league wins: 4-1, 3-1 and a 2-1 win v the best team on paper P6 w6 d0 l0 f18 a3
It's about more than just results. and frankly, getting Chelsea at the top end of the table isn't nearly as much of an achievement as getting Saints up there.
I'm not too bothered, knowing the manager of the month curse. It's now a worrying time for Southampton fans.
totally agree... I think also that Southampton have been amazing in terms of money spent and in terms of the football they've played all season...I get the point about how many games you played compared to Southampton but think they (Southampton) deserve some credit.
suarez is a **** so **** him I say...and he made the FA look like ****s so I suspect they feel the same way
It is supposed to be judged on just Prem games, hence the title Barclays Premiership Manager of the Month. We had 3 wins and Southampton had 3 wins. From there it's very subjective as to who actually did a better job as I'm sure all the judges thought we'd win all our games
Meaningless, unimportant bit of tosh. Who cares?? Doesn't give your team any more points. Worry about the important things, don't sweat the bollocks.
I hadn't realised the full stats until I read them earlier in this thread so yes JM can count himself unlucky not to have won it, but I think CPofL has it right, there'll be an element of 'how many times are Southampton going to win 3 from 3 ?' from the judges whereas Chelsea will be expected to win the vast majority of their games. JM will have plenty more chances to win it, Pochettino less so...
Well done Southampton , fully deserved . Chelsea have unlimited resources, so taking that into context most would say the correct winner.
