A surprise early Christmas present. Well done to whoever found a pair and sacked the fckr - SAF can manage by text from home for the rest of the season and still do a better job than JM
Carrick to take training over next couple of days them an interim it appears What do you reckon fellas? GNev Nicky butt?
Neville as DoF and Butt as caretaker? Sounds a plan to me. Would be brilliant if Butt promptly had the balls to sell Pogba next month!
Tbh chief not sure how I feel about pogba On one hand he has pissed me off big time but there is always the Mourinho effect so does he deserve a second chance?
Pogba puts up a tweet, and deletes quickly, of a pic of him wwith a look on his face with the words "caption this"
The caretaker manger will be someone 'steeped in the history of the club' - heading Gigg's way I would have thought.................
It has taken several months of **** football and many defeats including the most inept at the RS for ****ing Ed Woodward to make a decision. Even then I am not sure it was the other directors who gave him the necessary bollocks to act. The club now needs to take their time and appoint the right manager for the long term. The original philosophy was right but Moyes was probably not the right one to follow Ferguson who had won everything under the sun and played great football. All the short termism must end. The club must give up this season. Trying to buy players just to get into top 4 or even top 6 would be counterproductive. Just like buying Sanchez. Some players need to go. Whatever the expense. Does Pogba want to stay? If he doesn’t then he needs to **** off too. We need to rebuild from top to bottom. Woodward is an incompetent who needs to go with Mourinho. We may have won some trophies but the football have been largely ****. Van Gaal’s was the pits and Mourinho was not much better. Let’s get someone who can build a winning team WITH the style of football that gets fans excited and want to watch. The club must accept that one or two seasons out of Europe is not going to be disastrous for the club. The priority is to rebuild a club and a team whose morale is down in the dumps.
I don't like the guy, but there is no doubt that Woodward is spectacularly good at bringing in the big money deals, something that any big clubs need in the modern era - for that reason we should keep him but he needs to be locked in a room well away from footballing matters. We need a director of football and, as you say, a manager for the long-term, and for my money that is Poch. ZZ is totally unproven in any other management scenario other than his experience with RM - we don't need that. We need someone who can develop youth and play exciting attacking football. Given what Poch achieved at Southampton and again at Spurs (given their restrictive pay structure too) he is undoubtedly a talented young manager. I don't want us to for the likes of Gareth Southgate or Eddie Howe - neither is the right man for the job. I wouldn't say no to Wenger as DoF either, he has been particularly astute in the transfer market down the years.
