He's still speaking about Rooney despite the manager telling him he's not for sale, i don't think he's interested in him in my opinion, i think he's using him to put Moyes under pressure.
There should be a limit on how many new threads a poster can start a day! That aside, Moyes was quite happy to confirm bids and talks were being made for Fabregas despite the club stating he was not for sale - same with Wenger and Suarez. All managers do it.
That's what some fans don't seem to understand. Jose isn't calling press conferences so he can make comments about Rooney. He'd have been asked dozen's of questions and some will be leading questions to get soundbites to sell the following days papers. Jose could say 'no comment' but it's not really his style.
That's some understatement! I think Mourinho is a character who brings some colour to the game but I do sometimes wish he'd give a one word answer or just shut the **** up altogether. He seems to follow a pattern, he goes to a new league, gives a few soundbites, people think he's amusing and warm to him and then he talks so much that he becomes pretty much reviled and leaves in a strop!
Rooney is not going to the Chavs. Simply will not happen. He might go to any other club in the end but Rooney going to the Chavs will be seen as a huge defeat for Moyes.
Chelsea won't offer enough to make it worthwhile selling him. If Roman offered 50-60million then I think the Glazers would sell and give the funds to Moyes to spend next summer, effectively writing this season off as a bedding in period for the manager. As it is they won't go above £30million and United can probably get £15-20million for him next summer when there will be other suitors after some of the big money striker purchases of this summer have flopped. So the club will lose out on £10-£15million but support the manager and not strengthen a rival. Rooney of course will sulk his way through the season and go to the World Cup looking like James Corden.
United will rather lose money and have a key player sulking in the background rather than strengthening a key direct rival. The Chavs are rivals to United on and off the pitch. The loss to United of fat Roon going to United will be more than the £30-50 million price of the player.
S'funny, I don't remember Moyes trying to unsettle Fabregas by saying second choice players might not get a WC call up. Or saying he'll fight to the last day to get his man, just to try and unsettle the Barca squad. Both managers get questions and answer them, but Mourinho always answers them in a way that's designed to get what he wants. I think that's why so many people have a problem with him. Moyes actually did come out with a no comment response on Fabregas, just like Wenger did with whereas Mourinho doesn't seem to be able to keep his mouth shut even for a second. The fact that a few weeks ago he said he wouldn't answer any more questions about Rooney, and now here he is talking about Rooney again, just shows quite how devious the man is.
Purley meant in the interview regarding second choice players not getting in the WC, he never mentioned Rooneys name, but we all know it was aimed at him. Can we stop Meth Spamming this board and trying to stir things up?
Good managers play the system and the press, whether to sign players or influence refs or motivate their own players. When Fergie did it it was apparently all part of his genius mind games. Like it or lump it, it aint gonna stop. Moyes will be no different in the long run if he wants to last at the very top.
