Although his tenure was after I left for Canada he became the voice of English football due to his unprecedented superiority in the commentating department. The names in my era were Wolstenholme and Coleman but I held John Motson in extremely high regard and his excellence at his job will long be remembered as a standard to achieve for future generations to come. My condolences go out to his family and friends at this sad time. R.I.P. John. <rose>
