Just got a few texts from a mate who lives in California. He's at a conference with work. Bloke he's been talking to is from Detroit. Reckons the Ilich family want to get into the premier league and are looking at us. Plenty of yanks are buying clubs and apparently these are the best owners in the league. I'm too pissed to look em up but they are developers and like the name too!!

Well that would help, it'd be good to get some more investment.

Not sure that the Allams would want to sell. They might welcome some investment but would the Ilich family want that. I would of thought they would want 100% of the club.

Like you say, depends on whether the yanks would want to share the club. Allams would certainly be happy to with money investment money like that...

You're excused if yo'ure pissed then and think US sports are ****e ! ...I'm sure Ellewoods may have seen the relevance of my quip, despite his explanation of damp squibs & baseball connection. Be enlightened.

Well, i'm not a fan of much american music after the early-to-mid 70s - The Doors and Jimi Hendrix are the personal faves - both of their debut albums are certainly in my top 5 favorite albums. My main musical tastes after that center around The Stone Roses, Oasis, The Smiths, Paul Weller, Bowie, etc.

    Ps. Fantastic song. <ok>

Pps. Coincidentally, Apocalypse Now is my fave film ever as well.

Good on ya mate. Amazing how the yanks influenced most of our 50's, 60's and 70's music output, particularly anyone with blues tendencies. We just sent it back an re-enlightened them.
Subliminally you are influenced too. You even spell like a Yank ..lol.

    Was a great movie indeed.

If we mention American bands then the Eagles it must be above all else although Springsteen is worth a mention. Oh and not a band as such but Shania Twain and Celine Dion are both worthy Canadian candidates.
