    Well beaten in the end.

Select your top three, in order.

It’s a struggle to name three, or indeed one!

maybe Slater but too many sloppy or delayed passes
Ajayi as until they scored we looked reasonably solid
Gyabi - some awful shots but overall not too bad.

Giles had an off game and played them onside for their second. Hughes made an unforgivable mistake for the first. Pandur was shaky all game again then a horrible blunder for their second when he could have easily caught it, and his distribution all the way through was dross. I’m normally a Joseph fan but he looked knacjered tonight, and Gelhardt tried without much success.

I can see us plummeting down the league and we might be grateful for those Sheffield Weds points deducted. Oxford hopefully will take the other berth. But that still leaves one spot.

Gyabi Pretty steady game, won lots of balls just needs to sort out his shooting
Ajayi. Composed at the back and won plenty of tackles
Giles. Next best of the rest on the pitch

OK the ref was terrible, but another 2 goals conceded by poor concentration is our main issue. Know Philogene would be involved in a goal

Stinker from the ref, but lets not use that to gloss over a relatively poor display...

    Gyabi (bar his shooting)

Giles (bar playing their man on)

Slater tried. Amir was ok, not great, but taking him off was a big mistake; baffling imo with no Lundstram there.
    Slim pickings.

P.S. I presume whoever it was who said Joseph's best position was central is now locked in his study taking a revolver out of a desk drawer.

He presses well remember. That's all you need to be a striker at this level.

Giles, defended his man v well and did a fair amount of covering for Hughes too
Gelhardt, our only outlet in that front 4, only one who looked like making something happen
Ajayi, looked solid and v quick tonight, never looked fussed when up against Clarke or Hirst

I think some of the criticism of Ndala is a little unfair. He disappeared in the second half (so did half the team) but was by far the closest to scoring in the first half and looked reasonably competent.

We looked a bit ordinary tonight and a bit clueless to go with it. No-one taking a grip in midfield and dictating play. Ipswich were nothing special IMO, both goals looked like gifts to me. Didn't like their theatrical diving at every contact either.
I've had my doubts about Pandur for a while and tonight and he did nothing to change my mind. His distribution was slow and laboured and I thought he froze on his line for the first goal and spilt the ball for the second.
Greaves had Joseph in his pocket all night, men against boys, and don't think Joseph won a header or challenge against him all night, therefore we had no focus for our attack, no leader up front.
Having said all that I thought we were well in the game up to them scoring the first, which is something considering what we had to pick from but the minute they scored you knew it was game set and match.
Referee was appalling too. We saw too much of him and he gave us nothing, especially in the second half.
    So,
    1. Slater. Thought he was the pick of the bunch. Couple of mistakes but still the best we had.
    2. Geldhart, looked our most accomplished player on the ball although a little subdued at times ? Probably played out of position?
    3. Giles, tidy game, didn't do a lot wrong.
    ..
Mentions in despatches for Gyabi and Ajyi. Also the Ipswich away fans, good numbers for a Tuesday night and the first time I have heard chanting echoing from the back of the South Stand. That's how loud they were at times. Wish we could do that.
We, or some of us, tried to lift the atmosphere but with so little real action in front of goal it is always difficult.
