The meeting between Manchester City and Manchester United on Monday 30/03/2012 is not ordinary derby, but can decide (1)Where the title is going for the season (2) Sir Alex Feguson may have to think again if he have to continue as Manchester united manager. No one is going to force him out, but he may think that age is catching up with him he is already a legend and his record is going to be difficult to match by any other manager after him(3)Mancini too is unlikely to be sacked, but may think he had enough. I am not sure if Liverpool and Everton ever fought a close tittle like this, neither Tottenham and Arsenal or Chelsea and any other London club. Manchester United winning this certainly will end Manchester City hope of winning the tittle.United getting a point against Swansea in their next game is going to be enough for the title. After this one,Swansea away and Sunderland away. As for Manchester City, they need to win this, because they have a difficult game away to Newcastle and their last game is at home to QPR. A point is not going to be good enough, they need to put pressure on United hoping Swansea and Sunderland can spoil the party for United.
Unless I have done the maths wrong all City need to do is win all of their remaining games including the derby and the title is theirs? Easy!
If City beat Utd then I think Newcastle is their biggest test after that. United got an easier run in, unless Sunderland pull themselves together and get a result on the last day.
Ah, is that all? Easy! United have such a poor away record, and it's not like it's a pressure-filled match or anything... Then it's just Newcastle away who are in poor form, their strikers can't find the net lately, and then the formality of QPR who have nothing to play for and have not beaten any good teams lately.
Can't wait for this one. Just hope Utd don't play for a draw, as realistically that's all they need. The trouble for them is if it's end to end, I see one winner - City.
This is an ass. please log in to view this image This is an arse. please log in to view this image Though I'm guessing it's probably not yours, Zingy.
I would hate United to win but TBH I was all prepared for them to win number 20 so I had accepted that fate, so I will continue to accept that until City win on Monday
Same here, but once hope is restored it's not that easy. Talking of hope... I think I would much rather finish where we are now than finish 4th only to be taken from you if Chelsea won the CL. At least we have had plenty of time for it to sink in.
Oh well, only me still prefering United to win the league over the disgusting money club that is City. We'll reclaim top spot again eventually with our new owners, and I hope by then City's oil owners have gone, they're in tears crippled by high wages (same for Chelsea) and we beat United fair and square with a propper football rivalry between teams with history.
Wonderful dream but it is never going to happen. Money always has been and always will be a factor in determining long term success in football.
Aren't we all forgetting something?? Fergies refs...need I say more?? Titles already back in Surrey I'm afraid lads
Funny that the supposed best referee in the UK isn't getting to control one of the biggest derbies and potential league decider
Marriner to ref Manchester derby- Except if he suddenly have flu or his wife goes into labour on Sunday evening or any other family reason Howard Webb may stand a chance.
It's being hyped up as a massive game to decide the title. Two teams who score lots of goals and have some excellent attacking talent... So it will be a boring 0-0!
Manchester City have not failed to score in the league at home this season.I can go for a draw but not a goaless draw. City are going to attack , attack and attack, I can also see Tevez starting and scoring for City too. City win 2:1
