Anyone just hear the summary on the news?

Literally every other result was described as X won against Y, but ours was "Liverpool slipped to defeat against Hull". Bastards!

Didn't even show Hernandez hitting the side netting.

It was referenced in commentary though by Guy Mowbray.

Shearer was really complimentary of us. Wright was pleased for our manager which actually seemed like a bit of a dig at those pundits who wrote him off - not that we're bothered :D

Shearer full of praise there. Great stuff.

No mention of his (lack of) experience in the PL and his nationality, wonder why...

A bit weird seeing Jake in the West Brom shirt and celebrating the goal. I hope he does well there - though not against us obviously.

I always find it a bit contradictory how pundits often compliment one team for playing very well and then diminish that compliment by suggesting their opposition played very badly.
Surely the proper analysis of today's match was Hull City played very well which prevented Liverpool from playing anywhere near their potential. Rather than the insinuation that Hull City only seemed to be playing well because Liverpool were having an off day.

The double standard would have been even more obvious if Liverpool had won well, because then you can bet your boots they would have said Hull were simply outclassed, meaning of course that our performance was irrelevant because we had no chance of influencing the game against such superior opposition anyway.

So why shouldn't we adopt their double standard and say; Hull City simply outclassed Liverpool. The Merseyside team tried their best to compete, but all of their efforts were futile against a vastly superior Hull side?

Probably because we didn't outclass them and we weren't dominant in controlling the game. We played effectively and well on the counter and took our chances but I think complaining that we aren't being praised more when everyone is gushing about how Silva has us playing is getting a bit greedy.

This team at the minute can beat anybody in the league.
After the last 6 games we shouldn't fear anyone especially Arsenal this week.

Liverpool as a team didn't play that badly. There was one glaring miss, but otherwise good saves, interceptions, blocks and positioning by us helped get the win. They definitely played better than Manchester United. Their goalkeeper was obviously at fault for the first goal, but great for our new player to get in position to mop up that chance.

I expect we'll need a similar kind of performance at Arsenal as they rarely seem to play bad against us. Jak is looking confident to me, and he'll hope to repeat what he did at their ground recently which, from what I remember, was a clean sheet with the famous shot of him looking at one of his saves on the replay screen.
