    Funny, but I noticed that earlier this evening when I watched it. Nice to hear the plaudits again, and I take quite a bit of notice of what Patrick Barclay has to say, because he often sees and writes details that other people miss, although he admits, he was caught with his pants down like every other pundit, in the close season. He goes onto the point out that pundits didn't have much idea of what goes on behind the scenes at the club, and within its various departments, and this is important stuff when gauging any club's ability to survive and even thrive through turmoil.

    I would go as far to say that any Saints fan, who took notice of relevant details that the club were releasing, in terms of videos and announcements from Les Reed and Ralph Krueger, had a better idea than any pundit whose gaze was often pointed in several other directions at once. I'm slightly surprised that Ben Smith didn't have a better idea as he was privy to a few interviews during the close season. But then he released an article on the Beeb Sport website where it showed he'd got it quite wrong in places and all Saints fans on this forum knew it, so he was gathering hearsay and whispers and not putting 2+2 together properly.

    Thanks TSS and DTLW, both good viewing/listening. The best bit surely was when Chapman read out the tweet from the Saints fan....

    .... Seeing Lallana looking miserable on the bench and Lovren playing like a donkey" ... Now that was brilliant.
